God Afternoon- I received a call (3/9) from Hall & Associates regarding a Columbia House account from 2004. The gentleman who called stated that I owed $412.00 for movies I received. I explained to him that I had a Columbia House account but closed it after i fulfilled the club agreement. He replied with "Well you received stuff without paying so you owe $412 or I will process it as not willing to pay and I will explore other legal options". I asked him if he had any proof of the account or documents supporting his call. He said he had nothing and kept repeating I owed him $412.

one click cash is trying to tell me they are licensed to lend in ny and i am misinformed about the legality of my loan. I told him ny doesn't allow any payday lending and he says he is protected by federal law and that they are licensed to do loans here or why would they do it. I asked for the license number that allows him to lend to ny residents and he could not give me any information and told me he will list my loan as a refusal to pay and forward it to the compliance department. I have already paid this loan in full and have no intentions of paying anymore on it.

New payday lending regulations are coming for KY. First, internet payday lending will STILL ALL BE ILLEGAL. They are putting a moratorium on new payday storefronts being licensed. Those that are in business are going to have to be a part of a computerized tracking system. This will help borrowers and lenders. It will keep borrowers from taking out loans in amounts above legal limits. It will also protect lenders in that people won't be able to take out so many legal loans that they default on them and leave businesses to absorb the losses.

I received a call from one of their representatives following the same scheme as the ones stated above. I spoke with my lawyer regarding what happened and she stated that you can not have criminal charges filed against you for consumer debt.

How does someone find the best, reputable company? There were no comparisons for my state of AL... appreciate your help!!

I received this call on today from a person who is employed with Nelson Hirsch & Associates Inc. (Kayla Conley) who says she is investigating a loan of $500 I borrowed in 2005 (four years later). I am not financially able to pay them anymore money. What can I do? Judgment in Texas

Im about to enroll in a debt considation program and I have have one of the credit cards with my bank. Is there anyway they could put a freeze on my account or auto withdrawl the funds? Thanks Im in Texas if that matters
