I promised a dc that I would look into the debt they called me about and call them back today. I do owe the debt. How do I begin dealing with them? I would like to find out how they arrived at the amount and would like to negiotiate a lower amount....and lastly, I need to negiotiate managable payments. I can't pay in full. I can't pay in 3 or 4 installments. I need to get it to like 9 or 10 monthly payments. (Given the full amount.....if I can get it smaller, I might be able to do it in 6 months payments). I need a strategy before I call them back later today. Thanks for any help.

I am on the same boat with 7 PDLs. Each of the PDLs range from 200-400. I had to do it due to financial difficulties. Basing on my bank account I can see that I have paid six of the eight. When I contacted the PDL companies they said I still owe and that I need to pay it by the following day. I told them I can see basing on much they took out they I have paid it and even more. I am never contacted when they are taking out and they are taken out bi-weekly. They have been taking it out since November. I had enough with these companies to the point I had to close my bank account.

I lost my job in 2002 and was unable to pay my Sears payments. The balance on the Acct was $4895.00; according to LVNV. They are requesting that I bring proof of income in the form of check stubs, tax returns, as well as proof of property owned. I have never filed a DV with them and am unsure how to procede with regards to this matter.

Does any one know of Woodson Loan Agency? They are from the Uk and said they woould give me a loan but I have to pay them $1000.00 because it is a secure loan an I don't live in the Uk and I have to pay this before they will transfer the money.

I last year I had some debt charged off from a consumer finance company (world finance corporation aka world acceptance corporation) and each month that they've charged it off they keep changing the date so it shows up as a current charge off. I've had charge offs before and the creditor didn't do stuff like this, and how legal is it for them to keep doing this.

My husband has received phone calls from the Cambece Law Office, but has not taken any of them. They've left several messages and today we finally received something in the mail regarding the account. This is our first notice, but they are saying that we only have a "right" to a "7-day" response time in submitting a request for validation, or a "10-day" response in submitting a request over the phone. Oh, and by the way, the letter was written on the 9th, postmarked on the 12th, and received today, the 16th....7 days have passed....huh, coincidence? :?

I think I've been scamed by 247advances and I am sick over what I see. I recieved 200.00 back in December from this company and as of March 13th have payed back 74.00 every pay period starting 12/31/08. That totals $444.00 I have paid this company and now I want them to stop debiting me. No matter what I received, I have clearly paid them for the loan. I need help! What do I do? I live in GA didn't know if there are any GA specific laws to help me. Thanks!

This is crazy, in the last 3 weeks we have received 5 settlement offers from 5 different creditors 2 of which arrived in yesterday's mail. PROBLEM, we can't possibly pay them all at once. We had 6 if you count one we got back in December, (which in order to make Christmas for the kids we could not take). What do I do? We are in the middle of gathering statements to start a debt management program, and now this...We think we will have to follow through with making them payments, since we can't make all these settlements at one time. I am working in USA on H1B visa (work permit). I have unsecured loans from credit card companies worth $200,000. This is distributed between 7 credit card companies. I accumulated this loan because I had to send money to my old parents for medical treatment in my home country. I was doing good financially, but recently I lost my job in USA. As per law, I have to leave USA within 10 days. If I don't leave, then I will be considered illegal in USA.
