hello, My name is Seth S. Me and my brother have joint accts b/c our name and social sercurity number is 1 letter or number off. So when I pull up my credit score his show up and vice-versa for him. Please, I need help or a push in the right direction to help fix it. Open to any advices:)

Question for all. I was sent a summons in December and asked to file an answer. I filed the answer within the time frame and have not heard anything as of yet. What is the next step? is it possible that the CA could go to court without my knowledge and obtain a judgment? If this happens what are my options? Some back story. Had a debt with Discover Bank. Was unable to pay so they sent it to law firm for collections. Tried to work out settlement but they wanted payment in full.

Well I am at the point that I am sure my creditors are ready to do something. I am at 60-90 days with most of them. I owe somewhere around 45K in CC debt. I have put them off with my story of lower income due to the economy, which is the truth and they have been patient so far. I am self employed and will be going in to get taxes figured in a couple of weeks. I think I am looking at a gross income of around 15200, and taxable income around 6200. I have some of my day to day debt caught up but still owe over 900 on elec. from the winter.

has anyone heard of pack management or midland or mmg holding?

What recourse is there when a collection agency harrasses you at work even though you have made arrangements to pay?

I have an AmEx account that is just over 120 days past due, and was sent to Allied Interstate collections. What is a reasonable expectation of settlement? Am I better off waiting until the account is past 180 days? I could probably come up with 50% of the balance but that may interfere with other credit card settlements that I am hoping to close this month. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

hi and thanks for reading my post. so i am new to this website. let me tell you a little about my situation. i have out 3 loans, PLS which is $400 and a store front. CashnetUSA $300, and Mycashnow$300, both internet sites. I am in IL. From what i can tell about the advice on this website is that I should close my checking account. I should send the PLS a certifited letter telling them I am revoking the wage assignment. Then what do i do next? I am happy to pay but not such a horrific intrest rate.

would doing this debt consolidation affect my credit

First is there only 1 Encore? I got a call from 801-943-0000. The call was generated from Holiday Utah. I answered and they stated they were attempting to collect a debt for Mervyns. I asked for a written notice of the debt and she stated that it was sent out. she said either on March 4th or March 14th. She was talking so fast I could not understand her. Either way I have not received it. I told her not to call anymore until I get the written proof. She stated the calls would keep coming even though I requested them to stop. I have found useful info from your site!

I received 2 letters from a CA dated Jan 12, 2009, giving me 30 days to respond / dispute for 2 old Cingular Wireless accounts. I sent off a DV letter via certified mail, return receipt requested on Jan 26, 2009.
