I have read some mixed messages, is City View Cash legal and an installment loan or are they an illegal PDL? I am meeting with an attorney tomorrow and need to have all my illegal PDL's listed with addresses and I can't find an address for these guys and not sure if they are legal. (I am in MN)

Ok, Im sure this question has been asked a trillion times but I am in deperate need for help. Here is the story. I have what I thought was one student loan for approxiamtely $20,000. I was making the scheduled payments on this loan through Sallie Mae for about 6 months before economic hardship caused me to forebearance. While this loan was in forebearance for 1 yr and everything was jut fine, I recieved another letter from Van Ru copr saying that I was about to default on my student loan.

I received a summons from a lawyer in New Jersey in regards to a credit card debt that I owe Capital One. They are stating that I owe Capital One approximately $1,500.00 more than what the original credit card limit was. The reason that I stopped paying them was because I was forced to leave work due to a medical disability and had to fight Social Security to begin receiving disability benefits. I originally applied for SS in 2006 when I left my job and finally won my case in December, 2008.

1st off, I apologize upfront if I'm just not getting it or seem a little confused, but I am. I'm trying to compile my letters for East Side Lenders. They are illegal in Arizona, but sent me to a collection agency that has a legal license to collect in Arizona. What should I do? Reading the DV letters, it seems like I'm asking the collection agency for validation/proof that I owe the debt, and providing proof of such. Then the C&D letter on here says not to contact me that I refuse to deal with a collection agency. Which is it?

I closed my old bank acct. and nothing hit or reopened it. That's a good thing but now I am concerned that I was supposed to send the letters stating I revoke there right to ACH my acct. first. I am now composing my C&D letters but this has me worried. There are so many steps and with some many pdl's I feel overwhelmed. Is this the correct process? (1?) ach revocation letter 1. close bank acct. 2. send C & D letters 3.

A CA keeps calling me claiming I owe a debt from 2005 to a payday loan company, which could be possible. I asked for them to validate the claim via postal mail but the manager refused only to send my request via email. I did intially send the DV letter in the email to him no response as I told him I refuse to deal with e-mail communications now but to send the information via mail. When they contacted me the intial person said that a court date has been set and that I can settle before hand. Of course that is a "hell no" until I get proof.

I had 1 storefront PDL that defaulted over the weekend. I contacted them, of course not in time to break it up into 4 payments. I looked and they are following the law within Minnesota and are licensed. The guy was a total jerk and said it would have to be paid in a couple of weeks or they would pursue criminal charges for a passing a bad check and I would go to jail. I don't think I can go to jail for bad check because at the time of the check it was good. They also refused to work with a debt management company. Any suggestions.

Are payday loans illegal in texas?

I know I ran across it on some of the forums, but I can't find it any longer. Looking for sample letters to send to PDL companies telling them that I revoke my authorization for them to withdraw $ from my account and telling them not to contact me and/or my references.

I filed for chapter 128 a year ago but i just lost my job and i cant make my payments now any options?
