if my spouse owes a bill and iam married of course on the date of service. once the collection agancy has sent him a validation notice does that mean that i have been validated also on the account? or would the collection agency have to send me a validation notice on the account?

I've been pouring over all of the BK Codes and came across something where it states that if more than 25% of debt is comsumer debt (mine is 100%) then it can be considered credit abuse and your BK can be denied. Has anyone had any experiences with this?

So Pentagroup has sent me a few letters and called a few times in trying to settle a verizon debt. Today I got a letter with a "coupon" saying that they will settle for half the ammount. But also in the letter there is a line saying that there will be a 9.95$ convenience fee charged for each check by phone and ACH transaction. I was wondering if anyone could clarfiy what that line means and if I should settle it now.

I was reviewing my Transunion credit report. I see the inquiries from various collection agencies are showing up under the Regular Inquiry section and remain for two years. Same as if I had applied for credit myself. Is that right? I think they should be under the Account Review Inquiry section same as an existing creditor that would review your credit report but not be seen when the file is pulled? Is this something worth disputing?

Nearly two years ago I called my credit card company and settled with them to pay off my debt. I gave the company my checking account information and authorized them to removed the funds and they gave me a confirmation number. Soon after I receive a note from a collection agency attempting to collect on the same credit card that I had just settled weeks earlier. I called up the collection agency and explained the situation to the lady and she had a really unpleasant attitude.

I am in a debt settlement program with a debt settlement company and have been having a lot of problems with citifinancial as they do not want to cooperate with the debt settlement company at all. I have recently received a summons and could use some tips on what to expect. It's not that I'm refusing to pay them, but, I had no choice but to enroll in a debt settlement program in my present financial situation. My wife and I are both retired and on fixed incomes and trying to supplement that just to meet daily needs. If anyone has some advice on them, would appreciate your reply. Thanks

Hi I had sent a DV to Resurgent Capital Services and I had used a sample letter from this website. I have now received a response from Resurgent which states the account number and balance from original creditor (GE Capital). Thats it. There is no mention of payment history or any legitimate papers. Also they increased the amount by $40 as interest and fees. I am right now in a 30 day time frame, and I got 2 weeks more to dispute through certified mail. Can anyone help me with a second DV letter where I can ask for proof of everthing. How can a collector or collection agency find your cell phone number? is it illegal for colectors to call cell phones?

I have a creditor threatening to attach my checking account. My credit score is below 500 now (was 750 3 months ago). I live in Florida. I'm exempt but really would like to avoid having to go through the legal hassle of reversal. My questions: How do the creditors know where I bank?

I have been in the process of sending money to this company for them to negotiate my credit card debt. I am having weird vibes from this company. Has anyone heard of GHS Solutions, In Del Ray, Florida? They use Rocky Mountain Bank in Denver, CO as their bank to hold my funds.
