I received a call from this number last week; a man with an extremely heavy Indian accent asked for "Ivy; I told him no one by that name lived at my address. He asked if my phone number was (my number), I said yes, but no one named Ivy lived there and I'd been at that address for years. He got very abusive and I hung up. I did some "googling" on this number, also checked this website and apparently it's a GC Services Collection agency and apparently they deal mostly w/ credit card debt? I don't have any credit card problems but I was wondering, are they connected with any PDL's as well?

Question: I enrolled in a debt settlement program, with a company by the name of Enlightened Debt Solutions. I have been in their program now since the 1st of December 2008. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences working with this company either positive or negative. Would appreciate any info from anyone else who has worked with them

I am 26 year old single male with a credit card debt of 25k. And around 18k is on APR 29.99% which my bank have recently increased. I have full time job earning 4k after taxes.i tried working with my bank but i am unsuccessful in bringing down the APR. Can this debt settlement/consolidation which should i go for and how can this be useful.

The top message is saying there is not a legal way to collect on a payday loan debt? why is that? I finally got a call from a collection agency for cashtransfercenters I defaulted after a YEAR of being stuck with them re-loaning, but the collection company wouldnt give me their mailing address, I want them to stop calling my work, I told them today not to call my work, but its just verbal, nothing binding. Also they wouldnt work the payment arrangements i said i could afford and said i have 48 hours to tell them whether or not i can pay them their lump sums.

I have been reading this site for some time now. There are co's that everyone says are bad. There are companies that get good reviews. The "moderators" seem to discourage people from mentioning co's that were helpful. Is that because this site is owned by a debt settlement co.? I saw a thread tonight in which Julia666 became debt free. That is a wonderful story, but it seems that when she mentioned the co that helped her the name was deleted. There is no reason for that to happen. :evil: My .02

I'm a little confused - I've been reading all night -- Some of our debt has first delinquency dates of early to mid 2004. We were living in Texas and the SoL for Texas is 4 years (if I found correct information). However, this last fall we moved to Ohio and recently a collection agency said they can sue us because we moved and they can go by Ohio's SoL. Is this true? Or was the SoL up while living in Texas? Can the SoL carry with you when you relocate? I'm so confused now :(

I have a situation I was wondering if anyone could provide any guidance. I was on a rehab program for my defaulted student loans but, during the repayment process I was terminated from my job and was unable to make any payments for 3 months. I called the CA today to make a payment to get my account up to date, but I was told that it was sent to Wage withholding on Friday and there is nothing I can do. I just started a new job last week. I want to make payments for my loan just not through wage withholding. Has anyone delt with a situation like this before? Thanks!!

I have a judgement on my CR from NCO. The judgement was placed on 1-1-06 and I filed for BK13 on 3-1-06. I am pretty sure that the judgement was part of a garnishment and they stopped once I filed. My question is shouldn't the judgement be removed or will it since they have been paid by the trustee in full already? I am also questioning the amount since it does not match the original dollar amount they came after me for. I still have about a year left before my BK13 is discharged and don't want this to haunt me afterwards. Please help.

just got a copy of my credit report. claim i had a $70 write-off. I have never had a macy's (or any of the cards listed) card. need to know how you got the info that I did....there are a lot of mary potters. have never received a notice of payment nor any indication that i was in fact being contacted by a credit collection agency. I am not a person who would shop at any of these stores...i am more wal-mart, khols customer. address id no.***. please remove this negative item on my credit report. expect to hear from you immediately.
