Bank of America setlement and HSBC - what have you been getting

17 years 2 months ago
I see others in this forum that they have been getting 20% settlements with Bank of America I cant seem to get them to budge below 75% only two months past due so how long do I have to wait. Does anyone have a different contact number? HSBC is being one of the most difficult and I am now 3 months behind but they are refusing to budge below 80%. Perveen

Debt Settlement vs Debt Consolidation?

17 years 2 months ago
We have approx. $225K unsecured credit card debt, mostly from the upstart of our business. We have chosen the route of debt settlement through a trustworthy debt settlement advisor, Absolute Debt Solutions (Tom Bates), and are obtaining much lower settlement amounts than if we were to go through debt consolidation. Unfortunately, due to the slowed sales in our business, we are not consistently able to set aside the money for settlement and would unlikely be able to meet the monthly payments in a debt consolidation program.

Is it true........

The collection Agency can make you start over with paying your debt, if you don't make a payment. I owe a student loan and I have been paying every month, I had my entire amount of tax refund taken last year and partically this year. One of the repersentive told me If I don't make a payment, I will have to start all over again with my payments. Also, I was given a website address which suppose to be STUDENTLOANSOLUTION. have tried, org and gov. I finally tried studentloansolution.com and I still wasn't able to find out how much amount I owe.

Anyway..This is great news. We are going to try to pay on our next payday...I hope more offers are coming...Reny

Where to move when saddled w/ unsecured debts in default

17 years 2 months ago
We are losing our home to foreclosure in about 2 months and want to move out of Texas for a new start. We run our own business, which is incorporated, and want to protect our tools of the trade (computers, expensive video production software, and a growing library of films we create to sell). We want to be sure that the state we choose will protect our business assets until we can work our way out of $225K unsecured debt (from the upstart of our company and marketing.) We are considering Greensboro, NC and Denver, CO. Any advice on those 2 options or any others? Thanks so much!

EPP process for Texas Storefront PDL's

17 years 2 months ago
SO what is the process for initiating the EPP? Do I close the checking accounts first, then initiate the EPP? I have heard horror stories where the PDL's have drafted all the funds when they got wind of someone trying to payoff through EPP or a Debt Consolidation company.

IS CITIBANK STILL SETTLING?

17 years 2 months ago
Hello, just trying to find out and prepare myself for the worst. Is Citibank still settling? I have an account with them that is now at about $28,000. In a couple more months I will have about $8,000 saved for settlement but is that enough? Does anyone know what kind of settlement offers they are doing lately? This is such a stressful account for me so thanks for any advice.
