I have been receiving phone calls from a PDL company trying to locate my sister. they are saying that legal action is imminent if i do not tell them how to contact her. My sister was recently diagnosed with Breast cancer and is having to live with my parents so she has effectively gone into hiding:) LOL. My questions are: 1. what, if anything, can these pdl companies actually do? 2. how do I help her without throwing her under the bus? I want to be able to do the right thing, but I don't want to be an enabler in her financial woes.

I have a fairly large account to settle with United Recovery Systems, over $10K. So far they have just hung up on me twice when I did not offer to make full payment immediately. I thought I would be hanging up on the collection agencies, not them hanging up on me :o Anyone settle with this CA and have any feedback to share?

I would like to know which is best for me. I am 50 years old owe 32000 in credit ard, no I am not late but the interest rate is high. I have called the banks and only one of them gave me a lower interest the others told me to call a debt counselor and gave me the phone #. What should I do. I would like to be debt free in 5 years.

Does anyone have a fax number or e-mail address for Payco? They used to be AIP but the fax number I had for them is no good now.

I may have applied for some payday loans from my work computer. I don't remember. Is that bad since these united legal guys keep calling??

I took our student loans to attend a college in one state...now I live in another state and don't work so I file married filing jointly on my income taxes under my husband's income...can they take my state taxes under these circumstances, as well as my federal?

So I just found out that Discover lowered my available credit for no reason. I called them up and their excuse was that there has been no activity in 3 months. I thought that was bogus! My credit is perfect and I have never missed a payment. Anyway, I am up to my head in debt and I'm thinking of doing debt settlement. To my understanding, it will affect my credit but at this point I'm willing to sacrifice. Its not like good credit is getting me out of debt at this point. My friend referred me to overmydebt.com and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them. thanks, Fred
