Just received the first response from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation: Your concerns have been received by the Office of Financial Regulation regarding a loan. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. After reviewing your letter, we have determined the difficulties you are experiencing with an out of state finance company are not within the purview of the Office of Financial Regulation. Out of state finance companies are exempt from Florida Statutes 560.104, 560, Part IV and 516.02(4).

Hi I'm contemplating filing chapter 7 bankruptcy. Most of the credit card debt is in just my name, and not my husband's. We live in a community state - so does that mean that my debts are his debts too? We just bought a house (which pushed us over the edge regarding debts) and it is in JUST his name - my name is NOT on the deed. ?? Please advise... Thanks.

if i can't get in touch with the collection agency on my credit report how is the three credit bureaus able to verify the information?

I am 5 months behind on a HSBC account and when I called them it was reffered to Corporate Recievables. I dont;l want to call them after reading posts. Is this company still affiliated with HSBC or is it a collection agency? Has HSBC written off the account and sold it to Corporate Recievables?

I have been sued by an attorney office representing one of my creditors. I have spoken with them on the phone and the papers say I have 20 days to take action. What should I do? Would this include sending a DV letter to the attorney office?

Re: Complaint and Summons Colorado Should I file my "answer and affirmative defenses" now or later. I have until Feb. 9th, the appearance date. Any known advantages or dis-advantages for filing early?
