Hello! Question: Im steady getting all these letters saying ALL my wages going to be garnished due to none payment. I have student loans by American Student Assistance, in of course it went to default; Im trying to prevent them from garnishing my wages, ex.. Social Security,Disability, employment, etc... what do I do

If you are in NY state and have payday loans with interest in excess of 25%, there is case law that you don't have to pay. (SOP for this forum is that you pay back principal, and I'm not suggesting otherwise.) Check out the case of North American Bank v. Schulman, 198 Misc.2d 516 (Westchester Cty, 1984). Has anyone had any luck dealing with Sonic Cash? I have emailed them my letter and responded several times and they keep replying with their "form" email.

I have about 7 pay day loans out. They are continually harrassing me. I pay large amounts each pay check. Can someone please help me?

I borrowed $500 from this offshore lender. I repaid $300 and then got wise, thanks to this forum. They offered to settle for another $350, since "I agreed to pay at least one finance fee." I told them to pound sand - $200 and PIF or not another dime. They've refused and invited me to make another settlement offer. I told them that was the only offer they are going to get. Being as though I've paid less than the full amount of principal, I'd like to do the right thing.

I signed for a student loan in 1988, loan amount 2500.00. The amount with interest was 2800.00 which I have paid in full, but now the amount is 3400.00 including interest. I have requested an itemized statement of payments and copy of Promissory Note. I was 18 yrs old at the time of loan, my mother is/was a widower. She signed as an endorser (responsible for payment if loan default). Well the loan did go in default but then again I have paid the loan in entirety through the years.They want their interest. How is this fair?

I hope I can get some help from someone with more knowledge than me ( won't take much )! Let me explain a little bit about myself and the problem. I'm 25 and last year I was bitten by a bat and had to have a series of rabies shots. I have no insurance. However, I qualified for aid and still $400 something to the local hospital. I had been making small payments on the bill but recently have been totally in the poor house and had to let the payments slip.
