i have recently become unemployed. i have defaulted on a $500 BOA credit card. I have received 117 calls from the rudest people at a company called FIA. A friend said to send them a letter stating they are not permitted to contact me by telephone. two weeks after the letter was sent the calls continued to come in. 17 in one day. i contacted the federal trade commission who confirmed that a written cease and decease demand must be honored on the day they receive it. this did not seem to impress any of the agents of FIA. there response is to hang up on you and to continue to call.

I am in PDL hell and need any help or advice I can get. I live in North Carolina and all of my loans are Internet loans. I am outlining the loans below and their current status: Zip19 – Borrowed $600, paid 0 on this loan. Scheduled to be debited on 12/24/2008 for the whole amount. I have rolled this loan over so many times that even without paying anything on this one, year-to-date I have borrowed a total of $5300 from Zip19 and repaid Zip19 $5639.06. MyCashNow – Borrowed $600, paid $111.72 in fees & $8.28 to principal. Scheduled to be debited on 12/24/2008.

i have made payment arrangements with cashland here in columbus ohio. when i went there yesterday to one of my last 2 payments the business had closed down. so does anyone know what do i do now. i don't want this to come back to haunt me. i would like to pay them. but how

they seem to very bad and rude and break fdcpa laws anyone her deal with them

I took out an internet paday loan and after 4 cosecutive loans I requested a payment plan to pay it down. (this is the law in the state of Washington. At that time I was denied and they siad I had to continue paying the 90.00 every 2 weeks or pay the orgingal balance of $300.00, $90.00 interest and "other fees totaling $487.00. At that time I put a stop payment on the my account. and Now I am being threatend saying they will garnish my wages without going through court. One person said They were going to contact my employer the other that I was risking jail time!

Hi All, I recently found out I have a judgment on me from an old debt dating back 8 years ago. The way I found out is because I'm thinking about purchasing a house and I had my credit pulled. Is there any thing I can do to dispute this or try to have it taken off my report. Is it even legal to try to collect on an old debt?
