Hello all, I am drowning in debt. I have three credit cards with about $50K in debt. I am current on all my payments, even though each card has a different interest rate. I have been in this cycle of debt for years and would like to get out once and for all. I don't want to pursue debt settlement, as my credit score is over 700. But, I would like to get my finances in order. Can anyone recommend a good dmp program? I especially need one that works with American Express. Thanks for your help!

they claim i have taken a loan with them and i have never now they have turn me over to some collection agency and i have already sent them a dv letter has anyone here have had that problem where instant cash or some other pdl claim you owe them but you have never taken a loan from them what do you do about it

Ok,I went to my bank to ask for the hard hold on the account and they told me they couldn't do that and that I would need to speak with the company to stop the transactions. I asked what other resources do i have and they said i can close the account. Should i do this?

I haven't heard this topic posted yet. I get calls on my answering machine from The Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay. It starts off saying " If you are John Doe, pleas continue listening to this message, by continuing to listen to this message you acknowledge you are this person, there will now be a 3 second pause, ,,, This is the Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay and is an attempt to collect a debt and any information will be used for that purpose,etc etc... I know the fdcpa says they cannot disclose a debt to a 3rd party but how does this affect the law?

1218_08 McCarthy Burgess and Wolf uses daily robot phone calls trying to collect 'bills' on behalf of AT&T. The insidious part of this is that they will not send a printed bill that you can dispute, unless you are dumb enough to give them your address over the phone when they catch you in their robot phone call web. If you call AT&T, they'll verify that your account is clean and their is no record on you account of these scammers having a bill to collect.

My account was sent to a collection agency, It was only due on Dec 15, 2008. They sent the account without even contacting me. I had my account frozen because I am going to get debt assistant program to handle these for me. What do I do? Can someone help?

Hi all, I consulted with Christian Debt in Florida - they do both DMP/credit counseling as well as debt settlement. They quoted me a dmp monthly payment that is over $100 a month more than what I pay now. Is that normal? Also, they have a monthly account maintenance fee of $52. Again, is this normal. Thanks, A

Unfortunately i didn't read this until it was too late. I have taken out several ppl and the are draining me. I have gone so far as taking out one to pay the fees for another. I got in this mess when my daughter went to college and i needed money quick now i am suffering trying to find out how to get food and pay bills. My account is overdrawn and pay day is coming friday.
