Does a debt collection company legally have to tell you how much they purchased your account for

I just have a few questions and I am hoping that someone can help me since I have been given different answers from my friends. Okay I was told that if something is reporting on your credit report and there is information in brackets that this item is not calculated into your credit score, and I have also heard it is.

I have been calling credit collectors and they all want huge amounts of money every month. is it better to handle one at the time and get rid of it or pay a little to each?

I currently have 3 pay day loans due at the beginning of december. I was wondering if the due date can be postponed until december 15th. I have 2 bank accounts with a negative balance, I am waiting on a credit card, I recieve $20 per week from social security that I am in the process of bettering. I am waiting on some feedback from a school grant, I am trying to get a government grant, I am waiting on my financial aid papers so I can complete my senior year at the unversity of miami,(florida) in the spring.

I was curious if anybody has any expierence actually going through a settlement themselves and getting a really good deal. Would CA's settle for a little less and take one large lump sum? Or would they do a little bit more and do a monthly installment? If I were to offer them something should I start low and see if they counteroffer?

I've been screening my phone calls ever since I started getting calls at work. Anyway, I tellt hem i'm not there, and when I ask them what this in regards to, I tell them I can't take personal calls at work (though 99%) of the time I get the company name and can send a C&D letter. This one company won't give me a name or anything just says it's a personal matter and hang up. ne. Finally I had enough of it yesterday and said I no longer worked there.(Now mind you, they don't know it's not me as I don't answer w/ my name..

i have 5 loans running on my head currently. I wish to consolidate all of them into one loan and keep only one loan running into my account.

This may be off the specific topic here, but I couldn't think of a better fit... *************** Backstory: Nine years ago, I went through a particularly nasty divorce. To sum that up, she got everything. Kids, house, business, land, etc., and I got my **** handed to me. At the request of her attorney, I did execute some papers down at the local courthouse to remove my name from the real estate. Present day: I received a quitclaim deed from some lawyer I never heard of [neither mine or hers from the divorce] the other day.

What is the best way to go about modifying a loan? Should I contact my lenders directly and tell them that I will default if they do not modify or should I ask them without threatening them? What would be the best approach? I am current on my mortgage. Please give me some tips on the process of loan modifications. Thanks to all who read or answer....
