Enamored with an extravagent lifestyle

17 years 6 months ago
Wow, this is a great site, and thank you for allowing me to share my story. It all started about 3 years ago when I met my now husband. My credit score was around a 705, making about $50,000 (at age 27), and living on my own. I had one or two credit cards with low limits, and always paid on time and in full. I was usually living paycheck to paycheck, but I was happy, could afford my apartment and car, and other living expenses. I never had a lot of spare cash to buy clothes, furniture, go on trips, and the like, but I was happy and didn't know any different.

Hello, Curious - if I were to use a debt settltement company to pay off my existing CC debt of $25000, will that preclude me from EVER getting another credit card in the future, say 5-7 years after debt settlement? Thanks! SAN

Illegal Collectors keep calling

17 years 6 months ago
I just got a call from another one of these crazy illegal collectors. They keep telling me I owe on a payday loan I never had. I think I have gotten rid of them for a couple of months and then they start up again. This time they said they are ready to "press charges." My lawyer even faxed them a letter the last time they called advising them to contact him only. The letter was to Morgan & Associates. I called my lawyer again today but he is out of town. How can I get these guys to finally quit calling altogether??

Defaulting on a payday loan in Texas

17 years 6 months ago
I live in the state of Texas. I took out a payday loan on September 18, 2007 with Cash Stop, a storefront company. The loan was for $500.00 and a payoff amount of $603.97. This may not be important, but they had me give them 3 different checks: 1 for $100.00, 1 for $250.00, and 1 for $253.97. I don't remember their exact explanation for this, but I do remember they said it was to protect me...??? As of 10/15/08, I have paid them $1353.85. I just can't pay this anymore.

how to handle harassing phone calls in Ohio

17 years 6 months ago
I am being harassed by a storefront pdl - Ace Cash Express - I have paid $115 of $400 and trying to make arrangements on the last of this. They want it in 2 payments and after hearing over and over again that I had to take it or leave it, I agreed. Now I want to renegotiate this and want to know how I can do this. The storefront sent me to the corporate office and that is where i got the call. Also I have an internet pdl from paydayloanonline. They seem to be easy to work with but want to get a better pay off on a $300 loan that I have paid $60.

HELP!!! Wells Fargo Business Debt Negotiations

17 years 6 months ago
Hey, First of all I want to thank everbody for the great information I have found on here. I have a Term Business Loan (about $8,000 left), Business Credit Line (25,000), and a Business Credit Card (8,500) with Wells Fargo. I had to close my store last February do to the economy. 2 Ex-Business Partners, My Dad, and I are all gaurantors of the loans. The problem is the 2 Ex-business partners left the company a couple of years ago, and we had agreed to take them off the loans. I checked with Wells Fargo initially and they said that I was the only guarantor.

Do I Have Grounds for Legal Action?

17 years 6 months ago
A bottom-of-the-barrel collection agency has sent a collection letter with the amount I owe, etc., to an address I have not lived at for over 30 years, and it was inadvertently opened by the people who live there, who now have an inkling of my financial situation when it is none of their business. I have already made a complaint with the BBB, but is further action a reasonable step? These poor people have also received numerous phonecalls and harassment, even though this COLLECTOR HAS MY CURRENT HOME PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS and has been communicating with me there!!!
