I recently lost my job. I hvae no income i don't have any money in the bank and this is what she told me. We need you to pay this debt. I say to her I would be more then happy to but I don't have any money. She then gets lippy of course. Then I go on to tell her I lost my job. I don't have a home and you can check all assest if you would like. Then she was like we can offer a settlement for half. I was like Can I pay that overtime. She says no. One large lump sum of 9k. I was like can't do it. She goes on to say we will sue you.

Over $100,000 in credit card debt over the years, me an my wife make good salaries, but we cant get a foot in the door to try and get out. It is like we are running a circle and can not get a step to get out of the debt. Call banks to get one loan or try to get a credit card company to take all the credit card debt and see how they would make money off a larger amount and us paying them back, but nothing. Point of we have no clue as to what to do and there is no help from any direction that we are looking. Thanks for any info!

My mother, had some really bad problems in the past. It was only her and I paying to rent and bills, my brother and his pregnant gf were living with us had no where to go and not working and we had no help. She took out pay day loans (a few of them) from the internet. Since then her account has been closed and she is getting calls threatening to put her in jail and they say that because her account is closed that is a felony charge. Now she is going to have to go to court for this and I am extremely afraid I don't know what to do. Can they really put her in jail?

any advice. It cost me 750.00 hard earned dollars to hire a lawyer. I am sure WWR is counting on me not showing up. I answered the summons and the thanks I got was a court date and paperwork listing the arguments why they should get their money. They never responded to my faxed settlement letter that I sent back in July. I am hoping my lawyer can drown them in some more paperwork. I wonder what the odds are of them not even showing up?

I have been contacted by reps at Tremont in regards to a pdl that I had in the amount of $400.00 in June 2006. They have contacted my employer asking them to garnish my wages. My employer said they needed a court order before they garnish checks. Tremont says they will sue me. What are my rights at this point?

:?: Im so confused, and I am hoping that some of you can help (although I am also in the process of obtaining legal assistance). I live in California, and had a credit card debt, owned by Providian, who then merged with Wamu I guess shortly before I couldn't make payments anymore. Long story short, to get a divorce from an abusive spouse, I was stupid and agreed to take on a large credit card debt (that was just in my name because his credit was bad). It was about $8k at that time. Well, I didn't realize that I couldn't afford the payments, and live on my own.

I rent out a house. The tenant left with a $250 water bill (under his name). The water told me to pay or they would put the lien on the house. I didn't pay. Will this amount (lien) grow over the year? What happens to my credit score? I have 800+ points prior to that. What is your suggestion? I live in Virginia. TIA.

I would like to borrow enough money to pay off all my credit card debts and have a little extra left over and then pay a monthly note to just one company. How can I do this?

Does anyone know if they will settle on payments. My debt is 7 mths old and has gone to their attorneys for debt collection. I tried to make arrangements with them and they said that I had to have at least 1400. for a downpayment to make payments. I said I didn't have it so they said consider myself served they are sueing me.
