How, exactly, does one go about creating a blog hereabouts? I was given to understand that Simon was the person to ask, so I PM'ed him back on May 24. The PM is still sitting in my outbox, and I've heard nothing. Anybody know what's up?
I have two questions I would love some help with. First is Iowa a state that requires a right to cure letter before filing any court action? The second question is about confession of judgement papers, is it ever safe to sign one?
We are in the midst of getting a mortgage approved. Our credit report showed HSBC/RS with a balance of
$1129, but also stated that the account was closed in 12/00 and has $0 due. What is the best way to contact them and how do we go about getting this non-existent balance removed? Thanks

My boyfriend and I have lived together since 2002, He went through a complicated and lengthy divorce and in 2003 he filed for bankruptcy.
In Dec. 2005 we received two letters from "BASS & ASSOCIATES" -located in Tuscon AZ.
It read:
"We have been informed that your case has been discharged.
I am just totally speechless right now. I had a hospital bill of about $800.00 and could not pay the entire thing so I was sending in as much as I could. Now I only received this bill about 3 months ago and made 3 payments of about $50.00 each. Now I get a notice in the mail from a collection agency telling me they have been hired to collect this debt. I just don't understand - I thought since I was paying on this bill most hospitals would not do this. Well, I guess I won't be going to that hospital ever again.
Unbelieveable!!!!!!
I was wondering if anyone has been successful in securing a settlement on HSBC checking plus account as they are totally unwilling to lower their int rate of 25%. Anyone have success with them and any pointers? Also wanted to doublecheck if that is unsecured debt as it is overdraft protection.

Which is one is better to help my credit score debt management or debt settlement judging from what I have read on this forum debt settlement totally ruins your credit but my credit is already shot so which one is better. My problem is the huge int rate that some banks like HSBC and Discover are not moving so do I hire someone like Debtwave or can I do myself and save monies. Any advice appreciated as my ex is trying to leave me with $85,000 in marital debts.
