I just got a letter from Palisades Collection saying they just bought my debt from Chase (OC). I sent them a DV letter. I have a couple of questions. Should Chase now update the their listing on my credit report and I should see a new one from Palisades? My second question is has anyone ever settled with these guys and what % should I expect (the debt is around $10,000). Thanks

What is the statute of limitations on credit card debt? I have found some conflicting resources - some saying as few as three years, other as great as six.

So, I have store front PDL's from checksmart, cashland, and check into cash in Ohio. On EPP with checksmart, owe $115 to cashland, and $140 to check into cash (as my last EPP payment) Problem is, I have $100 to my name.... I can re loan from Check N' Go (who I am in good standing with) and pay off check into cash..... but will also need enough for cashland. Next payday, I should be able to pay off check n' go without reloaning, though my car payment is due and my phone is turned off. should I do the re loan? closing my acct is Not an option. I had a payday loan back in 2005, thru FSM Group in the amount of 250.00. I did not recognize the name when it came time to debit my account, so i refused it. Well i realized about it week later and called them to make payment, got nowhere there, was told someone would contact me. I tried 3 or 4 times to straighten this out. Well in Nov. 2005 i get a call from a collection agency, I paid 726.00, then in March 2008, I get a call from and Ofcr.

Are payday rollover loans legal in ohio? I have 3 rollover loans through the internet. 500 fast cash, one click cash, and b&l marketing. I hear that these loans are illegal in ohio, where i live. I have currently paid 240 each on two 200 dollar loans through one click and b&l and 225 so far on a 250 dollar loan through 500 fast cash. They are driving me crazy! How do I get out of this trap?

Can you still get a mortgage if you consolidated your credit card debt with a company? Do you have to wait for it to be paid off?

Hello, I'm about 10 years and 30grand behind on my student loan payments. Last week I emailed the gov and asked them where my loan was being held, and they replied with the information and told those people my new information (address, phone, etc). So I want/need to pay this loan back to restore my credit. Hopefully soon I will get something from the collection agency and we can begin to work out payments. My question is, is this in my best interest? Is there any other option?
