Hello, I am a newbie and very glad that I came across this site. I have done a great bit of research and decided that I am jumping in and doing my own debt settlement. My husband and I currently have about $45,000 in usecured credit card and loan debt. I am doing my debts first-$29,000. I would like any information, tips, guidance, or any advice that anyone has to offer. Before they hiked my rates(along with everybody else's), I always paid on time and usually more than the minimums.

I have about 7 payday loans, 3 of them are just fine, but 4 of them are horrible. I have been paying the fees on them over and over, which Arizona law says that legally they are only allowed to roll over the loan a total of 3 times. I have paid these loans back. I closed my account, but I am worried about the phone calls and legal actions. I want to pay them back but I feel I already have with all the fees I have paid. Here are the loans Big--loan amount $200. I have paid fees since March 2008, started at $80 ever pay check but lowered every month until it was $40.

I want to do debt settlement but am not yet behind. Will be unable to keep up because of medical conditions and not work. Will they still work with me?

Received a summons today with Zwicker representing AMEX. I was working with Sif and thanks to JL nothing was ever done. It states i have 20 days to respond. I am now working with another DS company....how do i respond?

I have read through many threads on this forum and am trying to go through the correct steps in my head to clear the PDL trouble I am currently in. Here is the information I currently have collected that I belive will help in lending me advice.

Question:

I need to get a pre-paid cell. Any recommendations? Would someone that calls you, or someone that you call know that you have a prepaid phone?

I recently spoke to them about making a payment on my PDL and they want me to pay $ 510 for a $ 300 loan. I told them that the CA laws only can allow loans for $ 255 max and the guy on the phone laughed and said that because they are internet they do not go buy CA laws and even though they are based out of Oklahoma. have you guys heard of internet PDL companies claiming to be above the laws of the states you are in? :?: :shock:

I have a concern about my house. I included my house in my bankruptcy. Bankruptcy has been discharged. I told my lawyers that I wanted to keep it. However, I didn't reaffirm yet. My concern is lets say I loose my job or an unexpected life crisis happens and I'm not able to make payments anymore. Can the mortgage company start the proceedings of a foreclosure if i get too far behind? I was told that the Chapter 7 would protect me from a foreclosure and i was advised not to reaffirm just in case something happens and I have to give the house back to the mortgage company. HELP

I have student loan debt and cannot consolidate because I have no degree. Can I do anything to reduce my 13% interest rate?
