If a person were to file a false claim of fraud, should FCBA apply for this person? If proven to be not Fraud and person is responsible, can't the creditor bill the consumer back even after FCBA expires? It is not fraud!

In 2005 I had a ton of payday loans and eventually closed my account. Well fast forward to now ... my ex boyfriend calls me and says someone keeps calling him saying I am involved in a criminal internet fraud case. he gives me the number so i call. Its sonic cash. The man tells me he needs my attorney information so he can procede with criminal charges against me for internet fraud. ... blah blah blah .. I found this site and i learned that cant happen. I asked him to send me some correspondence in writing or an email. He refused ..

I have been in OVLG's program for about a year now, and a few months ago they settled $14k for about $3400!! I was concerned because I haven't had to do any work at all for them, but the people at OVLG have been working behind the scenes for me, and do a great job. It's nice to refer the testy collection agencies to a lawyer; they hate it, and I love it. Thanks OVLG! :D elon

I have lots of debt, both credit cards and other personal loans. I have only one more PDL that I'm still working with, Zip19 (the worst!) and now I need to start working on my other debt. Do you suggest I try to tackle this myself or use a company to work with my creditors? I'm not sure the first step if I do it myself but after reading several posts, I'm a little scared to trust a company. Any suggestions on what is a good company to use? Any advice would be great appreciated!

Hello all... I am too trying to clean up my credit and my credit report was pulled by a mortgage company from the 3 credit places. There is a judgement on there from a past rental property that states I owe them 15,200.00 The rent was only 1100.00 And it was the end of the contract and I don't know where this is coming from. Now is one more dellima I just pulled equifax credit report for this judgment only show on. The equifax from 07/29/08 to 08/08/08 shows different information. The report on 08/08/08 shows that the judgement is satisfied with no satisfied date.

Well, I just took another hit from James Lombardo. My account with Citi that he was supposedly working on has gone to collections at GC Services. What should I do? I have heard nothing from this CA yet, and it has been with them since May. I would like to settle the account but do not want to deal with a CA if I don't have to. Of course, Citi is telling me that is the only way, despite the situation. At first, they asked me if I had been contacted by or had contacted the CA myself over the last 30 days, to which I responded "no".

Can the IRS take 15% of my monthly social security check? The school that I attended had a lawsuit filed against them and the students won. The Dept of Education says that I "have" to pay this back, even though this was back in 1999-2000 and the students won their lawsuit against the school, I sent copies of the lawsuit and the winning results of the students. What is my legal rights on this, am I liable or not? Thank you
