I have a friend that had wages garnished for 1 year...the attorney recalled it and the sheriffs office sent payroll a letter telling them to stop the garnishment and refund with monies on hand? not sure what that means....but is there a letter to send to the creditor telling them that they have been beaten and to refund the $ they have gotten for over a year?

I have been paying on a debt every month and I haven't been late, they are threating me to pay the whole thing now or else they will come after me. Can they do this?

Can anyone give me an example of what one should look like from a collection agency. The one I received just says Creditor Original Creditor account #.

i have been on disability for panic attacks since99. i have a lot of medical bills in collection. My meds have gone up to 300dollars.they are threating to take money out of my account.can they do this?

From the Inside Arm Newsletter: Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced Wednesday that his office had charged a Dallas-based debt collection agency with using deceptive practices to collect from Texas consumers. The AG’s office said that it filed a suit asking the courts to “permanently enjoin Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates, LLC from harassing Texas debtors with deceptive letters and unlawful telephone calls.” Texas AG is filing & plans on collecting major fine money from these people. :lol: :lol: :lol:

If there is a credit card lawsuit pending and the court date is 2 days after I file bankrupt will it stop the lawsuit getting a judgement on me?

Well thanks to James Lombardo, we are now being sued by Citi Bank. He was supposed to be working on settlements, but didn't follow through and the account was written off. Does anyone know how I respond to the suit?

I need to give you a little bit of history. Back in the end of January I was contacted by a collection agency who was very abusive. In fact they were emailing me and I got a lot of their abuse in the emails. I filed a complaint with the FTC and the CA Attorney General's Office. An attorney in Los Angeles took the case without me having to pay any fees. He sent them a letter telling them to validate or this would be pursued. They never answered and ignored the letter.

Has anyone out there experienced Bankruptcy? Meaning has anyone lived thru it? I'm considering a Chapter 13 an very concerned about my potential for future employment with this showing up on my Credit Report... Obviously a good job will be the only way I can pay my obligation related to the bankruptcy obligations.
