Okay so I did some digging and I have talked with a company called Compass Credit Solutions. They seem to have account managment through Global Client Solutions and put your money in a FDIC insured account. Does this sound legit? Another question how long before a credit company decides to take you to court? Also are they pretty willing once you tell them you are working with a settlement company to back down a little?

Hi there everyone....I am trying to figure out my date of last activity from two very old accounts. The accounts are back between 97-00 and were sold to creditors, however in looking at my report it shows that the original creditor has posted the "Last Reported" Date as May 2008. I am thinking that some re aging is going on and want to get them deleted. I have addresses for the original creditors but do not have my old account numbers. Should I just provide them with the digits that are visible on the credit report?

I am preparing to pay outstanding debt to several credit card companies. One has offered an amount lower than the outstanding balance to settle. They have told me that they will report to the credit bureaus that the account has been "settled". I have been told that when you want to repair your credit score, it is better to have on the credit report that the account has been "paid as agreed". The credit card company won't do that. I understand that this will negatively affect my credit score. If I pay the entire amount due, will they then report "paid as agreed"?

I've been working with a collection agency (Northstar) to settle a Discover Card debt. I've received the DV letter in regular mail from them, but all future communication/negotiation they are now demanding be through email or phone, "because regular mail takes too long." If I accept their offer, I'm looking for a "Paid in Full" settlement letter from them. Legally, is email (including negotiations/confirmation letters) just as good as regular mail? Their settlement offer is 40% of the total debt (including fees).

A guy names Steve Matthews called my work from 310-867-6326 and spoke to one of my co workers and let a message for me to call him back regarding a legal matter. After calling back ( I still have no idea what business this is) I was told that a case was going to be executed against me tomorrow if I didn't pay back an old payday loan. He also told me that they sent me 16 emails regarding this to an account that I haven't had in a year and also tried to take the money out of a bank that I haven't banked with in almost a year also.
