Hi All I just paid a collection account from american express that was a corporate credit card which I guaranteed (big mistake). After I paid it of my score actually went down :( I would really appreciate any advice as to how i can now raise my score.

I have a bad car loan with a company called WFS and the car was repo-ed. WFS eventually got acquired by Wachovia Dealer Services (WDS). As of today, WDS is still updating my credit report with a "Collection" mark every month. I tried to contact WDS to settle the debt by monthly payment through the contact number listed in the original statement (the old company that was acquired), but the Customer Service at WDS told me to contact via the address listed in the credit report. No phone call allowed. OK, so I sent TWO letters to WDS via certified mail.

Received a letter today from Arrow financial with an offer to settle at 75%...First communication stating they acquired the debt from WaMu Any one have any experience with them?

I have about $100k in credit card debt and have not made a payment in over 5 months, although I have been in frequent contact with all of my creditors who call me frequently. My largest creditor is BoA and has offered to settle for 20% of the balance and said they are getting ready to charge off my account. I am inclined to accept their offer, which they put in writing and faxed to me. Is there anything else I should do rather than just send a check to them? I know I will get a 1099 and that my credit is now damaged.

In the meantime, anyone have any information on E-payday-loan or STCAdvance in Texas? I can't find any information on STC, I had a $200 loan and have paid $222 back in interest. E-payday-loan - $300 loan paid $90 interest. They are calling now, so I am going to send C & D letter, but wanted to make sure they are illegal. Any help is appreciated.

Last week I receive a call from Norman Kalina's office. Askin what was I going to do about my 2 accounts Paycheck Today and Cash Advance Network. The lady was very rude. But I held my own with her. She then connected me to Jessica Colby who did take the time to listen to me. After hearing what I had to say she told me that she was sending the accounts back to the OCs, because I had overpaid the accounts and I told her I had received letters from their states saying they were null in void. She also said if anyone called and harrassed me to call her back personally.

I have 15K balance with US Bank. It is few day from charge off. I offered them 50% of balance for settlement. They countered 70%. What is usual amount these guys asking for settlements? I do not have enough fund to even counter -counter offer of 60%. I will appreciate your information. May be I should wait till charge-off then re-negotiate.

spellman and roman---i have never received anything in writing. they called my parents and threatened me, so i paid $265 of the $700 they said i owed. this debt is not even on my credit. today, when she called me, i told her that i paid them, that they have been harassing me and that it is illegal for them to call my parents and to continue to call me and that i filed a complaint with the ftc. she told me that my whereabouts would be verified and then i would be picked up?!--do i have anything to worry about?
