I know they say bankruptcy should be your last resort. I have lots of debt to pay off, I know there are others who have a lot more, but to me $6,000 is a lot since I only work part-time as an independent contractor and it is not steady work, the amount of my paychecks are different all the time. I have looked everywhere for another job, but I have had no luck. One of these debts is payments through a settlement, $150 a month for 4 months, I am approaching the 5th month soon and it's time to re-negotiate, I am not going to be able to afford anymore.

I am in need of a loan and my credit is poor. I have tried Prosper.com, but had no luck. I know a lot of these loan companies are bad, but are there any that are good and are there any that service the northeast? A lot of them are only available to the south and midwest.

I have read on here that pdl lenders can find new account information after you have closed your account to begin negotiations....is this true? I have opened a new account at a different bank as well as the bank that i closed my checking account...(i have 2 new accounts...one at the same bank and one at a new bank) long story....what is chexsystems?

Has anyone filed for Chapter 7? what was the outcome, was your daily life effected?

Hi Everyone, I could use some advice. I just sent out a DV letter to Creditors Interchange. They are the second company that LVNV has assigned collection to. The first company stopped contacting me after I requested validation of the debt. The debt is BoA. The original amount was a little over 5K when they sold it in july 07. Now LVNV wants 7100 and they refuse to tell me how they reached this number. My plan is to buy some time, save a little money and offer a settlement. Any advice on this idea? However, I would need about 4-5 months to save some money.

Yuck! I have my court date this Thursday for my chap 13. I really hate having to show my face there. I seriously doubt I will see anyone I know or will ever see again BUT I am feeling ashamed. Everyone at work knows that I filed and I hate that too. I should have kept it to myself. Anyway, I could really use some words of encouragement. I know this is the best thing for me and my young son...I just feel like a failure.

I had a default on a CC posted on credit report in May 2003. I have gotten a summons for a court date in Sept. 08 in Tennessee I was a resident of Maryland until I moved to Tennessee Nov.2006 The SOL in Maryland is 3 Years. Can There be a judgment on me here in Tennessee since the Maryland SOL has past?

has anyone heard of topdot, the mortgage lender advertised on television. we want to refinance our home but our credit score is not good mostly due to late payment on the mortgage. Is it a scam? any help will be appreciated.
