They pulled my credit report (strangely) the same day that unifund last reported. (I sent unifund a DV letter the month before). How can I find out what account Phillips and Cohen is soon ( no doubt) going to be trying to collect on?

I am looking for a loan but my credit is far from good, I believe my score is somewhere around 540. I am looking for @2k. Is there any company who can do that. I tried Prosper.com, but I keep getting the message that my score is too low. Thanks

I have not paid a credit card debt in 1 year, I originally thought I would have the funds to settle after about 6 months but this ended up not being the case. I am slowly building up some cash now to try settling. All the accounts are either with a lawyers office or a collection company. One account has issued a summons. I never once spoke to any of the creditors, I moved, changed my number and never returned any of the calls when messages were left on my cell phone. Should I send letters to the original creditors now and ask for them to work out a settlement with me?

Need some background on an alleged collection agency that uses this number as a contact number, usually the person calling indientifies themselves as Eric Matthews or Andy Brown and sounds one in the same ... any information that can be forwarded would be appreciated or can be forwarded to email address removed per TOS rules and for your protection, by Shazzers. i am an investigator in Illinois seeking information on scam activities regarding persons at this number . thanks for your time.

I recently sent emails to paydayok.com and paydayselect.com...but I received a response from thinkcash.com asking that I contact customer service. Are these the same companies? I do not have a PDL with thinkcash.com

so im confused? if you send the debt verification letter after the 30 days of the original dunning letter then the collector does not need to respond to your request ?

Does anyone have a correct address for these schmucks? And a physical address, not A PO box?

Looks like there is quite a stir created with the sifxpert posts below. Is there any way to actually verify these allegations? This is certainly a criminal matter that potentially affects many, many people. The internet age has fostered an atmosphere that allows for faceless (anonymous) sniping. It would be a great dis-service to this community to allow the sixfert@hotmail allegations go untested. If these claims are legitimate, is there any way moderators or site owners can verify these claims?

Hello all I sent them my C&D letter via fax and email and they have forwarded me the following: Dear: Will you read this and tell me if I need to add anything or word anything better. We did receive your faxed correspondence and would like to inform you that we will no longer be contacting you via phone as per your request. We are willing to accept payment arrangements for your past due balance of $740. Please inform me of the dates and amounts of payment you will be making to rectify the total past due balance.
