Payday Loans = Quick Payday and David & Morgan?

17 years 10 months ago
I am being harassed by a man, very difficult to understand, claiming to be from a firm called "David & Morgan", which I believe is somewhere in the Miami area. They claim to represent US Bank and Quick Payday. They're doing the usual...threatening criminal arrest, along with "demanding to speak with my boss to explain the situation". I can't find any address for this place...has anyone had experience with them? I need to send them a cease & desist, but can't do that, without an address, which they refuse to give me. Also, I want to file a complaint with the Flroida Atty.

School

Yes, I went to school, and that's how I accumulated my $90,000 debt. I got the majority of that on loans with Sallie Mae (horrible mistake, including going to school). That alone was just a year and a half of going to school and I couldn't go anymore because of personal issues that had to be dealt with first. Afterwards, when I started paying the loan back I had to do a voluntary forbearance due to financial hardship. ... as simple as it might sounds, I sometimes wish I've never gone to school. There is absolutely no reward that goes with it, except for a big fat debt.

Submitting papers

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just dont' want to make any mistakes. Do you staple together all of the forms and put them in an envelope when going to the courthouse? What is the procedure?

I started going back to school in October of 2006 and signed with Sallie Mae since that's what they recommended. After the first two weeks of going I get a call from Sallie Mae saying that they needed a co-signer so I got one. After getting one, they called me and said that they needed to talk to the co-signer because there was a "red flag" on her report (they really didn't specify) and when I told them that she could not speak fluent English, they told me that all I would have to do is put her on the phone and they'll ask her a question or two and then I can translate for her.

Response from MTE through bbb.org

17 years 10 months ago
I filed a complaint through BBB.org in regards to MTE and this is the response I got.    we all know MTE is illegal with no license to lend. My loan was for 300 and I paid 193 back so far. How should I respond back to them.

Emoticons?

17 years 10 months ago
I can't ever seem to get mine to work. I have "smiles" enabled, and I can see them to the left of the "post" box. But whenever I click on one, instead of entering it in my post, it just enters text instead. What am I doing wrong?

Hi all, if you could offer help I would greatly appreciate it. I recently started trying to validate debt (medical) and mailed the letters CMRRR and one collection agency received them on July 3. Now as of July 9 they updated my credit file with Experian as a major derogatory again on all 4 accounts.

Debt Settlement Lawyer - Twin Cities

I'm pretty sure I will be going under hard sometime in the near future if I don't take some form of action very quickly. Does anyone know a good lawfirm in the twin cities? I would prefer to deal with them (as per the site's advice) then a service I find online.

We did it!

Well, it's been a pretty depressing day. We met with and retained a BK attorney today to file Chapter 7. We had hoped to avoid it and to somehow turn things around enough to at least be able to offer partial settlements to our creditors, since we do feel morally obligated to pay our debts. BUT since we are now about 90 days delinquent on all of our accounts, and we are still barely living paycheck to paycheck, we just couldn't see any way to manage even partial settlements on our $140,000 credit card debt.
