I recently got a "package" by a firm of the name Borack & Associates. In it, were a bunch of court papers and affidavits. I contacted them and got a hold of Wendy Jennings. She advised me that because I missed a court date...WHICH THAT letter was sent to an address where I don't even live at!

When collection companies call and harass you it's because they have bought your debt from whoever you originally owed. They pay pennies on the dollar in the hopes that they can collect the full amount and make a killer profit. That is why they tell you you can only make the payments to them, not to who you had your contract with. Now, since they bought your debt, that means they took it upon themselves to pay it off. So now you supposedly owe the debt to them. Now here's my question.

Does anyone know anything about the Class Action Lawsuit regarding TransUnion and Acxiom Corporation? The notice was printed on my most recent TransUnion credit report .... anyone hear anything about this?? One of my PDL's was UnitedCashLoans and I had borrowed $300. I am trying to do the "right" thing and pay them the principal--I sent a money order, which apparently was not received--it's been over 10 days since it was sent. UCL now advised that they will only accept Moneygram for the $300 until 7/11/08 or else they will sue for the full amount. I refuse to use Moneygram to pay this. I sent them an e-mail asking if they are refusing my payment through money order. I can't believe they would do that, since that's as good as cash. What are my options now?

They have called my house probably 10 times on Saturday telling me I was approved for a $1,000 line of credit. I repeatedly told them I was not interested and to quit calling but they just continued. My daughter said they have called already 8 times this morning. When I tell them I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau, they hang up but then they end up calling back. Anyone know anything about these people and how do I get them to stop??? I am on the Do Not Call list and have reported them there but they also call from several different numbers.

Well, after years of stupid moves (basically just buying crap I couldn't afford on credit cards), I really think it's time to enter debt settlement with a serious quickness. I will end up doing it, just because it seems to be the only way out, but I have two concerns. First, for every one positive thing I hear about debt settlement, there seem to be 3 or 4 nay sayers that pop up and have negative comments to make about it. Secondly, I am a bit skeptical about the debt settlement company's ability to keep the credit card companies at bay.

I had pretty good luck working hard to repair my credit reports after I paid everything off, so my older brother asked me to help him with his. He is 40 and has always paid for everything with cash and other than a couple of 10 year old lines of credit at jewelry stores that he never even used, he has no credit. He's a longhauler, no wife or kids, and his life is surfing the internet, playing games and watching DVD's during his downtime.

I embarrassed to say I have many PDLs out. To be exact I have 6. Two I have set up EPPs. I have 3 more outstanding and I also have one internet PDL. I am in Ohio and don't know how to overcome all of this --- I can only pay so much in payments in order to pay my other bills Any help would be greatly appreciated

Has anybody heard of these companies that "eliminate" debt based on the structure of the financial institutions. Something about the fed reserve is a privately owned corp and it owns the irs and we don't borrow money we borrow against a trust in our name?
