I recently discovered most of my payday loans are illegal and they have been charging me really really high interest fees. I just joined a debt consolidation program so that I can pay these loans off. I had so much to happen to me in the last past year and I needed some extra cash in between pay periods. I make good money but since these payday loans fees have been coming out of my check and overcharging me I have little or no paycheck at all. I couldnt close my bank account because I had a negative balance.

Is it possible to opt for a balance transfer card from the same company with whom I owe an amount? I have heard that Citibank is offering such a card

This company, is based out of Costa Rica, and is threatening to send me to collections for non-payment. They advanced me $700 I have paid $1211 with zero going towards the balance and they are now claiming I owe an additional $1074 The email I received said I am bound by Costa Rican laws even though I reside in Oklahoma. Today’s email said since I have not responded to any of their arrangements for payment I can expect to receive a call from the outside collection agency. I called the Oklahoma consumer credit and she stated they are not licensed in our state.
