Answered summons, what happens now

17 years 11 months ago
I know I owe this debt, I am hoping they do not show proof that they own the account, but if they do, and I lose, will they still agree with a payment arrangement? The debt is over $2000, and before I answered the summons I tried to negotiate with them, they asked for too much at one time, they they agreed to an amount that I can afford, but they never sent me the paperwork to sign. They were probably counting on me not to answer my summons. Since I have, can they still agree on something with me, I am not able to pay back the whole amount in full.

Is bankruptcy right for me?

17 years 11 months ago
I have a lot of old credit card debts that I am trying to repay. I have joined a non profit debt reduction program, but one of them is suing me right now. I know that bankruptcy will stop any legal proceedings, but I don't know if that would be the right thing for me to do. Should I just stick with trying to repay back my creditors and if I lose this lawsuit, work out something with them?

In Debt We Trust

Has anyone seen this documentary? In Debt We Trust? UncleWulf recommended it to me, and as far as I'm concerned it should be a companion piece to "Maxed Out", and should be required viewing by all Americans. Mr. Money makes an appearance in this one too, in addition to his appearance in "Maxed Out." Along with those goofy kids! I liked the question that girl asks, wondering if "girls" should worry about their credit too. Mr. Money advises her that "women" are the main spenders of the family income, from buying groceries and such. Mr.

Tricked Out Customs Cycles

I don't get what tricked out dosen't understand?????? I knew exactly what I wanted. I simply wanted a KICKSTAND TO FIT MY CBR 1000!! They advertised that that they have such a product and when I tried to install it at Honda, not only did my bike lean so far over that it almost tipped but it was also sutting the engine off when I tried to ride!!! So I don't understand?????? How did I not do my part as a consumer???? Tricked out is sooooo defensive and trying to come up with excuses as to why I AM SO WRONG INSTEAD OF JUST PROVIDING GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Mortgage, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Divorce??????

Hello, I made a couple of posts in the PDL section, but I have another question. My situation is a total mess, and some of the problems have been repeats. I'm ready to make the changes I need to in order to get out of this cycle. Here is the chain of events.. My husband and I bought a home about 4 years ago. It looked like a dream come true. Built in 1890 with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, almost 2500 sq feet of living space, a full finished basement with bathroom number 3 having a whirlpool tub in the basement. It was beautiful. $74,900... Sound too good to be true??? It is..

Judgement proof?

17 years 11 months ago
I have read that you are considered "Judgement proof" when you have no assets or only receive money from the government (SS, unemployment), I work part time, don't make much at all and don't own any cars or a house, am I considered judgement proof? Also I live with someone who pays the rent, can they take his income even if they don't have anything to do with the debt?

Whats the point?

I am a Massachusetts debtor. I am sick and tired of these debt collectors and mostly these debt collector attorneys. I complained to the Attorney general, division of banks, secretary of state, board of bar overseers. I should complain to the governor because he is the only person left. I went to the NACA and called every attorney asking for help and none of them will. I am judgment proof right now so they can't get anything out of me but I don't mention this to the people I have contacted. I called the Board of Bar overseers on attorney misconduct.

All this is over!! Today I faxed all my paperwork to T & C, I'm going in the morning to send the money, my retainer fee and enough to cover the first months' payments for everyone. The phone has been ringing off the hook.
