My sister I think will qualify to file for a chapter 7 if I understand this means test right. Question she makes like $13.46 an hr working 40 hours a week, pays health insurance, life insurance, retirement, receives child support for one of her children of $307.00 per month, and pays rent at $600.00 a month and all utilities. If I read the median income level for the state of nebraska it says $36,179 for a 1 earner family, and $58,055 for a 3 person family.

Several weeks ago my adult daughter used my home phone to contact some of her debtors in an effort to reach a settlement of outstanding debts. She lives out of town and I seldom see her, she happened to be visiting and we encouraged her to try and work something out with the companies she owed money. Hi, I visited a bankruptcy attorney today and he said we could file bankruptcy on payday loans which made me happy until I thought about it and realized that our "loans" are actually checks written on our account. CAN we file bankruptcy on the pdls? Thanks for your help Teresa

Recently I have been getting calls from a company that claims they are a attorney's office that has been directed to handle my case in regards to a pdl that I got with cashadvanace.net the problem is I dont remember getting a loan from a place called cashadvance.net When I asked the guy is there another name that they go by he said no.Even with not knowing 100% if I ever did get a loan with them. I ask them how much do I owe and he informed me that my balance is $600 dollars. Impossible because I have never borrowed no more than $200 from any pdl.

I have a house I been in for just over a year now. I am on a plan to catch up on the mortgage when I got 2mo behind. So I don't think I really have any home equity yet. I don't think I can get out from under the house with the market the way it is or I would. I have about $5,000 in card debt between 3 cards all around 23% and about 18,000 in automotive debt. I have to find a way to lower my monthly payments. So I have money for my family needs. What are my options?

I cleared my debts on Chapter 7 in July of 2005. I like to know how long do I have in order to try Chapter 13. I would also appreciate if there are amy known people that can advise those will the situation I am faving.

Hello, I am a college student, and up until about a year ago, I had really good credit. I was using a card with a limit of $1,000 and making my payments on time. About this time last year, I was offered a card with a $6,000 limit and I accepted it. Turns out that was the biggest mistake of my life. My auto finance company has threatened to reposess my car if I did not get my account up to date by June 13, 2008. They want May payment, which i mailed in,but they say they did not receive it, and June's payment which was due on the 3rd. I have placed a tracer on my money order but that could take up to 30 days. I do not have the money for two payments right now. Any advice?
