Can accounts charge off during a dmp? If so, I'm guessing the account is normally sold to an outside agency, so then I'm guessing my DMP would need to send the payments to the agency rather than the OC? Also, if a creditor were to charge off my account during my DMP, but I'm making payments just not as much as they are wanting do you think they would still sue me?

Does a debt collector have to be registered with the S.C. Secretary of State's Office to collect in South Carolina? I am being sued by LVNV who undoubtedly purchased this debt before Sept. 12, 2006, when they were first registered in South Carolina?

I have a long defaulted federal stafford loan, 8 years and going. Stupidly, I consolidated it in 2002, but never made payments. Now Allied is after me demanding payment in full (52,000) and I have three more days to respond to their warning of garnishment. I want to pay, but can only afford $200 a month. Since the loan was consolidated, I believe that I can't rehab it. I'm not sure what to do next. Scared to call them, I've heard too many horror stories. I'm planning on writing them and explaining my situation and hoping for some mercy.

I took out one or two at first, then had to take out a couple more to pay others and so on. I have made some payments to some of them and am so lost on who is who and whom I have paid already.

can I pay with my card online its a debit card

I am negative $1000 in my account right now and I just found this site on Thursday evening. I need help! I am in a total panic and don't know where to start. I feel like I should close my account so that no further debits can be taken from my account. But I need advice on whether I should use Langhorne or do this myself. I feel very out of control! I made a stupid mistake. I refused to pay my gas credit card because my $95 gasoline bill grew to $305 ($210 in late fees). The last payment was on 1/2005. The gas credit card was charged off in 6/2005 and sold to a collection agency in 5/2007. The collection agency raised the amount due to $408 on 5/2008. I only have 6 months and the debt will be past the statue of limitations in California (4 years). I was trying to re-finance my home mortgage and I found out about the negative items that I've been ignoring. I'm not sure what to do. I have no other debt and I have a lot of assets.

Hi, my husband and I are planning on doing a debt settlement plan. We both just got calls from banks yesterday. Mine from Wells Fargo on a card which is not overdue, but was before last month (i paid the minimum payment last month).

the letter said they tried several times to contact mypaydayloan.com and was unsuccessful, therefore, they can't do anything. They said I could pursue action against them in small claims court if needed. I paid my paydayloan.com $600 on a $500 loan and they say I owe them $575. Now, I just got a letter from Detexagency saying they are collecting on behalf of mypaydayloan.com for $800. These people are ridiculous. I am going to call the agent on the letter from the AG office in the morning and tell them about the collection letter and see if they can do something.
