It seems Laura Hess of HESS KENNEDY SCAM was on TV for scamming another person and it shows what this woman looks like. In fact it shows her face numerous times in the interview. Go look Google: Foreclosure Fallout: Credit Repair Come-Ons See the interview on the right with her face on it and read the article that NBC ran on her scam. This should nail it for everyone that they are scam artists. STOP PAYING THEM.

I was wondering if anybody knows what the state of Texas laws are concerning the original creditor and what things are considered illegal with them?

OK Please follow my train of thought here. I have account XXXXXXX which is being negatively reported by LVNV, I dispute it to the Credit Agencies, and ultimately it's pulled because it was not validated. The following week/month whatever- it is re-reported by Sherman which is part of the same company as LVNV.

Hi, guys! :D After ALL these months of the internet pdls being GONE, I received a telephone call at my place of employment today. Of course, "can I take a message" (since this person couldn't even pronounce my name correctly). I was given a name (didn't pay attention) and she said she was with The Loan Center. Huh??? :shock: So, I did a google search and I see that they are associated (?) with my cash now, Discount Advances, and Sonic. So... I had nothing with My Cash Now or Discount Advances.

Someone just called my wifes cell phone and the number appeared as : 506-222-04323. I've never seen 5 digits as a legit number before. Anyone have an opinion?

Hi all! I have a deficiency balance of $5998 left from a car loan that was sent to National Action Financial. I called them and got them to take $2000 in a settlement offer. I gave them my payment information (post dated check) yesterday and they are faxing over the agreement in writing this am. The date of the 1st delinquency is Nov 2001 which according to Equifax means it will naturally fall off my report in Nov of this year. So I'm wondering did I do the smart thing by paying it now or should I have waited to see what wouldve happened in November?

I don't know if I owe anything for sure or not. I do owe a doctor $5000+ and make monthly payments of $40. Other than that, I have no debts that I am aware of. Here's the deal, why I hate creditors, and why I would never apply for credit, not even a credit card!! The interest and service charges are legalized theft. The credit Card offers, the large limits!! Who couldn't resist "FREE" money?? But it is FAR from free.

"I" on credit report means individual. "J" means joint acct. What does "M" mean?

Please be careful when posting on the legality of a payday loan company. Be sure that you have thourghly researched it, and are posting good information. There are lots of loopholes and legal tricks that companies use. Just because you don't see them in a quick search of licenses doesn't mean they aren't licensed. Sometimes they are under a corporate name. Sometimes they are registered as a CSO instead of a PDL. All these things can be legal. You have to really check all the bases before you can really make a determination.
