I'm on a payment plan with the IRS, I'm not planning on missing any payments, but I was wondering what happens if you can't make a scheduled payment?

My friends mother recieved a summons to appear in a Rhode island court on the 14th of May. This is from a past debt which she had previously paid on. She already had a judgement against her and just in the past 4 days they seized her entire bank account and left her with a neg. balance. The summons came via regular mail today, does it not have to come from a process server?

Hello all, thanks in advance for the help! My wife received a summons today from Palisade Collections / Wolpoff & Abramsom Law Firm for an old HSBC credit card. It is a valid debt, and we do have the ability to pay it ($960). Should we go ahead and call the attorney that filed for the judgement or call Palisade? At this point, we just want to make it go away and fortunately have the funds to pay it. Thanks again!

OK, I'm not sure where to post this, so if it is the wrong forum maybe a moderator can move it. I just checked the status of my IRS stimulus refund, on the IRS website. According to the last 2 digits of my SSN, I should have had it via direct deposit last week so I was wondering what the deal was. Well, guess what? I guess I'm too poor to qualify for the stimulus! There's a spot on the site where you plug in your SSN, filing status, and number of exemptions and it then returns a screen advising the status of your payment. Well, I was told I didn't make enough last year to qualify.

Has anyone heard of Ellison National Finance? They are out of Canada and everything seems real legit, but they did ask for a 10% deposit on a loan to be refunded to me after 3 months of payments. I have not sent them any money yet - just got the paperwork to review. I know it screams of scam, but everything looks so legitimate - just looking to see if anyone else has had any experiences. How do they place a lien on your property. Can HFC or any credit card company do that ? I own the house with my husband and the debt is mine ..Please help...and do you have to go to court if they try to put a lien on your house??

Hello all, I got a aettlement offer from one of my cards. It is 25% of what I owe. The settlement is really really good. The lowest I will probably get. They want to settle with settled as agreed on my credit report. Is there anything I can do or something I could say to get them to say paid as agreed. Any ideas or guidance would be great. Xray

Loan Shop Collections debited my account for $130. I do not and have not ever had a loan with them. Has this ever happened to anyone? I have not disputed with my bank yet, because I wanted to do my research. Thank God I had money in there to cover it.
