I heard an advertisement on the radio on my way into work about pdls. Here is Ohio they are trying to put a stop to them, however; the advertisement was to keep them legal here. It was too funny. The person said I would rather pay $15 on $100 instead of paying $39 overdraft fees. And then another voice said "what about credit unions" the person resonded "and be turned down again no thank you." that was the end of it other then saying keep pdl loans in Ohio. We want them out!!! This new law will do nothing for the internet pdls just the store fronts. They need to work on both!!

Hello, I've been reading on this site for months, trying to figure out how to get myself out of the hole I dug myself regarding payday loans. I've read the success stories and about closing bank accounts, but I'm terrified of doing that because I don't want to default on anything--I'm paranoid! I guess I really don't know where to start the ball rolling in terms of cutting out the loan/re-loan cycle that I've been involved in for 3 years now. Can anyone help me get started?

Ok... I sent them letters a few weeks back stating I was revoking them from debiting my account, wage garnishing etc.... and also to cease and desist calling me. They continue to call a few times a day at work and home and I keep sending them letters via email and fax to cease and desist. Each day the guy says we are making a major decision here and I need to talk to you before we do. I told them to speak to me via US mail or email. They continue to tell me via email to call them and I refuse. I want everything in writing. Anyone else have issues with them? If so, what was the outcome.

hi, guys, need some help. me and my husband both have a cash advance through cash advance usa, my husband owes 150.00 and i owe 300.00, back in sept, i kept getting threatening phone calls, emails, etc, same ol story, and finally we paid 150.00 on my husband(who originally owed 300.00) they were so mean, i never responded back. never heard from them again, yeserday and today, i got calls saying i have 24 hours to call them, or they are turning over to our county attornys office, which they also said last year.

After several days of searching deep within my soul I have decided it is time for me to depart from the site for an indefinite amount of time at the end of this week! This is a very emotional and difficult decision but I feel it a necessary one. It is basically based on three separate factors. The first being the fact that the time I can put in is limited only to my lunch hour during the day. During this time there are so many knowledgeable and capable people on the boards, both veteran and newcomer, that my being there is basically moot.

So I recently got my Credit Report and realized there are duplicate entries on the report. These dups are originals that have sold off or moved to another company for collection. What is the easiest way to remove these dups and approximately how long will the removal(s) take? I am trying to clean up my credit as quickly as I can as my fiancee and I wish to buy a new home in the next year or so. I make a good amount of money but have "other" obligations that are taking up the funds currently.

Hi guys! In Dec 2006 I had to leave the UK as my visa expired. At that stage I had 6 000GBP worth of personal debt. I now want to go back to the UK as I have recently secured my EU passport. Will I be allowed back into the UK and how should I go about sorting out the old debt? Regards Gideon
