I have had a judgment against me in NY state. I think the debt is about $1800. What are my options now? Can I send monthly payments to the law firm? They don't know where I work yet and I don't want them showing up at my work place. I was never personally served with any papers. Nor did I actually receive the papers via mail. Apparently all the documents where sent to my parents house. What courses of action are available to me now?

All is well in PDL land today. As I posted over the weekend, I was still dealing with my last holdout, Star Advance. Since I could not find a processor for them, I contacted their own bank, Bank of the West, and spoke with their legal department. I did not get a response before the weekend so I decided to do some additional research and came up with an E.Harding, as the contact person, on the West Coast. I sent an email off, attaching my original C and D letter and explaining what has been going on.

I sat down this weekend and figured out how bad the situation really is. Need I say I became quit ill!! I thought that I owed between my store front and internet lenders about $8000, it came to $12000. I have read on several posting of Langhorne Debt Services and thought I would get info. They are saying to close my account, I know that I must do this to gain my control, and not to mention my sanity back. I am worried about my store front loans. I am in Wyoming by the way.

Recently there have been posts about Sonic Cash, a licensed Idaho lender, exporting rates into states that "accept out of state licenses", such as PA. While there has been an opinion here that this is acceptable, HERE IS WHY IT IS NOT VALID. Read the email contact below with the Idaho Department of Finance. You will find that, regardless of what your state says, this argument fails. If you are confronted by a lender with an out of state license, don't just defend yourself in your state.

How do i become a community member ?

I am EXTREMELY nervous. I did admit to owing some debt but not what they were saying I owed. I said I wanted to see why I owed what they said I did. Now I just received a notice my trial date is June 30th. I don't own anything for them to take. I have a car which Capital One financed. If I would've known I had owed Capital One so much money I would've never bought the car. I thought it was about 1500.00 but it turns out it about 3000.00. I don't know whats going to happen next.
