I got this lovely e-mail from Kelly B from payday loan yes.: In reference to your e-mail inquiry; The state of North Carolina will have to contact us and let us know that we are no longer able to do business in that state. Until we are notified of this change, you still are obligated to the contract you signed for both loans. Please contact our Accounts Receivable department for anything further regarding your accounts. Again their direct phone number is 1-800-666-8107. Thank you for choosing Payday Loan Yes I e-mailed, faxed and mailed the letter with the state statues on it.

Midland Credit Management

Hello everyone, i have found this website and forums to be very useful and feel as though I am not alone. Here is my Midland Crisis and what i have done so far. Any help in telling me what I may be doing wrong or right would be great. Several years ago, maybe 04? I received a call from Midland, the woman was nasty of course and told me I wowed Midland 458 dollars from an MCI account that I had told MCI years ago was not my account. To be honest, I don't remember getting a letter from them just a call. At the time I resided in Pa.

Webpay day

They do not seem to listen. I sent them a letter via email, mail and fax stating not to contact me via telephone, that I revoked them from debiting my account etc..etc... Well - this lady from webpayday continues to call me at work and home. I sent another cease and desist letter this morning via fax and I am hoping they get the point. In the letter I told them they were breaking the law and I would procede with getting an attorney involved if they dont stop calling.... waiting to see if it stops. Anyone else having issues with them?

What will you be doing with the Check?

I know that the government wants me to run out and make a major purchase. I sure would love to take a little vacation or buy some patio furniture. But frankly I need oil or to pay off a bill or two. Will this be helping the economy or is it just helping my family survive a little longer?

Update on Ohio

A bill that consumer advocates say would become a national model for payday-lending regulation passed a divided Ohio House yesterday, despite industry warnings that it would drive their 1,600 stores out of business. The measure wasn't approved without some political games by House Republicans, who put a major scare into bill supporters when they added -- and later removed -- an amendment banning the Ohio Lottery from adding Keno to its betting options, as proposed by Gov.

Seems PD loans in the state of Ohio will soon be a thing of the past. Don't know the details but some sort of legislation passed today thats gonna put a serious hurting on the these predators!! It's not going to outlaw them, but one payday loan shop owner was on TV tonight and said it will put all show out of business. He said the restrictions are soooo tight, no way any PD loan shops could survive. anyone got anymore info on this!!

Capitol One threatening to sue!

Around the first of April, I received a call from a paralegal @ a company called "Creditors interchange" informing me that they had received a credit account belonging to me from Capitol One (that I haven't been able to make paymentns on, along with several others) and were notifying me of their intent to take me to court. The options I was given were to a.) pay the entire balance; or b.) pay one third of the balance by April 30th. I received a letter from them a couple of days later reiterating this.
