Do you have to be delinqent on your accounts before you can start debt settlements?

Hi. I have several pdl. One is Impact Cash and I live in PA. I am preparing to close my account and seetle with pdl companies, but I read on Impact Cash website that they do not service PA. Did they make an illegakl loan to me? Also when I close my account and try to settle can any of the pdl companies sue me? Just curious. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Thanks.

I have gone with a company out in Florida by the name Cornerstone Financial Counselors. I have researched them here and found nothing at all good or bad and searched the BBB and found they have a great rating with no complaints. They have been around over 20 years. I just wanted to see if anyone has dealt with them... I have already signed up and ready to go and my rep seems to be worth while...I guess it's a good thing that I can't find anything wrong with them. Thanks for any feedback you have.

I have an old unpaid phone bill from Talk America and now it has went to an attorney. I wrote within 30 days and asked for a debt validation and they sent me back 20% of the things I asked them for in validation and I sent them another letter asking for more information. My question is that if I want to work with Talk America directly to get the bill paid can I and am I still responsible for their $145.00 lawyer's fee?

Hi All, Can I dispute or have deleted my current work number from my credit report? My employer does not want me getting personal calls and I recently found out that it is on my credit report.

Was hoping someone could give a little input on my issue...will try to make it short. Got a letter today from LVNV (Capital Management Services) saying that I owe $217, but they'll settle for 1/3 of that. Nice of them. Seems that they got this debt from a firm called CBCS, which contacted me earlier in the year, saying I owe about the same amount from a phone bill in 1997! Had never heard about this debt before.

I have faxed and e-mailed this collection agency a cease and desist. I have done this twice and then yesterday I sent them a certified letter. They have still continued to call about twice a day. Can they legally do this?

Hi everyone I am new on this site, but I saw it is active and I hope someone can answer my question. I am on collection from 4 of my credit cards. One I dealt directly with the bank, the other 3 are placed with outside agencies. I have payments that come out of my account every month, and it has been a year.

But, no matter who or how many times she asked, she was bing ignored.".........OMG!! SOMEONE gets it!! 2) ..."one well-post would have gotten your point across quite well.".......OBVIOUSLY not. 3).."six or more seperate threads, all slamming Admin about this..."...........I got my point across, din't I? 4)..."taking this into other sites was very over the top, and I think you know it.".......I wanted to let OTHERS know what the 'malfunction' was.
