Frustrated with verification proceedures?

18 years 1 month ago
I work for a bank and just wanted to get other peoples' intake on this topic. So many customers get so upset with me when I ask them for their SS# or other personal information to verify them before I will discuss any of their account information with them. I could entirely understand if someone called you and asked you for your SS# but if you are calling your financial institution is it too much to ask for all of this information?

Can someone help me get rid of internet payday loans?

18 years 1 month ago
I too need help getting rid of payday loans. They total around $2400. I also have tried getting a loan to pay them off with no success. I live in Kentucky and the payday loans are through the internet. Zip19, Cash Spot, Discount Advances, and Payday Services are the internet companies. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It makes my heart flutter to know that there are such generous people who are willing to help each other with their problems. Thanks in advance.

Bank or Credit Union?

18 years 1 month ago
I have had my BOA account for over 10 years, however, it is the one that is associated with the numerous internet PDLs I have taken out over the years. Basically, there is no telling how much this account information has been bought and sold by now  Anyway, I want to open a new checking account at an unrelated bank. However, I am also wondering if it would be better to open one through a credit union. I recently applied to a well-known credit union here in CA and was approved, but have yet to go down to the branch and provide proof of identity and make a deposit to open it.

I wrote a letter to Campos Law Firm, that was Mezey and Associates, which is now The Campos Law Firm, last month requesting a full refund. They gave me a check for 1200$ I joined up on May 10/2007 Do the math...They owe in total 9 months at 399$ a month. I am taking legal action at this point. Do not use any of these Names as company. I am not pointing fingers I am telling the facts. They are a scam!

Update in Virginia - Two responses so far!

18 years 1 month ago
I've got four Internet PDLs out, all illegal in my state of VA as I posted yesterday. So far, I've gotten responses from two of them: Immediate Payday replied to me via email: "We received your fax concerning your loan and reporting to VA agency. We work on commission basis and we arranged you loan for your emergency situation as per the below email which you sent us. But now you are asking not to debit from your account. It is not fair in your part not to pay the loan. Even if you can't pay in full, please pay in installment of principal amount (only) to close the loan.

PayDay Max

Just got this letter in Email? Umm Yeah what should I do next. I don't have money to pay them right now. If I did I would be paying them. Credit Protection Depot 1-866-645-1661 CLOSED ACCOUNT WARNING We have received information from your bank that you have closed the account, which you authorized to be debited in order to repay your legally binding loan obligation. We consider this to be a refusal to repay your debt and will immediately initiate action to protect our interest.

Interesting law...

I found something under my state statutes WV 46 Uniform Commerce Code. Apparently other states have similar statutes. If a creditor refuses a payment then the contract is dishonored and voided, works the same with with a collection agency too.

moneygram v money order

18 years 1 month ago
i had asked this question on a different thread, but can't find which one it was, so forgive me for asking again. What is the difference between a moneygram and a money order? Which is better way to go when paying these PDLs?
