i NOTICE LAST WEEK I WAS SUE BY Daniel & Norelli ? are they Legit? cause they do not have a license in NYC (that I know of) How can I pay this debt to the original debtor, without going thru these sharks?

Okay , since people don't take you seriously here unless you register I just did. My question is this: I have a bill collector(they say they are an "investigator" but they don't say for whom) from Georgia that has called a couple of times claiming that they need to talk to me regarding a pending legal action against me and my social security number in my county here in Colorado. The person said in the first call that it was not an attempt to collect a debt. This morning they called again at 6 am my time. Same person, same MO.

All, I just got a call from CACH LLC, they stated that I owed bank of America for 18K, I told the Rep that I needed to see my debt in writing, after pause for a second, he told me that his boss wanted to talk to me. Again, I demanded the DV for review then I'll response to it in according with the law governed. Then the boss told me she will fax the notice to me in 30 minutes, thus far more than 2 hrs, I have not seen any fax coming. Please advise what i need to do next?

I am having a problem with Emerald Marketing Group. I had a loan with them for $300 on which I paid back $505. They now want an additional $250 and told me today they will call me every day at work until I pay it. They are not a collection agency but have in-house collectors. Can anyone help?

First let me say these forums have been great and so informative. Based on advice I received I have put a hold on my checking acct (until I can close it safely) and I have begun sending out letters to the companies and have even gotten some responses, here is one from Geneva-Roth : Quote:

My original debt was with Capital One. They apparently turned it over to Worldwide Asset Purchasing, who in turn, turned it over to RFM. My credit limit on this card was $300, but their stating that I owe them almost $800. I am willing to pay them, but $500 over what the credit limit is?? I think not!! Are these guys legit? The IRS has more information about the upcoming economic stimulus payments. Woohoo! The IRS says: Stimulus payments will be sent out in the order of the last two digits of the Social Security number used on the tax return. Because the IRS will use the Social Security number to determine when checks are mailed, taxpayers may receive their checks at different times than their neighbors or other family members.
