A couple of months ago I received a letter from one of my debt collectors. I opened up this credit card years ago from a furniture company (who is now closed and bankrupt). So anyway I believe this letter was from Jefferson Capital Systems...basically all it said was that if i paid 3 minimum payments of $113 i'd "qualify" to transfer the balance i owe onto a credit card with zero interest AND they'd give me a special credit offer.

a company by the name of ssm group and dfi group credited money into my account I have no knowledge of these companies and do not recall signing any documents do you think i shoud close my accounts

What is a R-9 Rating on a credit report?

ssm group and a group called dfi has deposited money into my account I've have no recall of even applying for a payday loan with these people or e-signing any paperwork should I pay them back? or close my accounts and inform them I will mail them there money back?

I want to know whats the outcome of being sue by a credit card lender. Will I have to pay more?

I recieved a phone call from an attorney(debt collector) ask me right away about a personal account and demand me to use the money to pay for my debt. Does he have the right to do that. Should I ask get a lawyer?

I have a credit card account that I stopped paying in 2004 due to a divorce. Today I received a summons to apper in court from Unifund who bought the debt. The SOL for credit cards in my state is 3 years. When I checked my credit reports, it shows my account history current until Aug 2004. Then, from Sept 2004 until July 2005, it shows 120 days late. On Sept 2005, it shows as Key Derrogatory/Account closed/Sold. And then there is no more history. So when did the SOL start? Was it in Aug 2004 (when I stopped paying) or was it Aug 2005 (when it was sold to Unifund)??

I'm trying to unravel some issues related to [I think] an old Visa card. Still waiting on the CA to admit just what, precisely. they're calling us for, but this is the only thing that makes any sense. The issue is, what is the SoL on this account? Now before anyone asks me where I live, let me fill in the details that make it confusing to me..... My wife had a credit card, that she got while living in Michigan [6 year SoL]. Sometime later, she moved back home to New York [6 year SoL]. After that, she moved to Wyoming [8 year SoL] when we got together.
