I have recently recieved a letter from a attoney's office saying that I will be sue if I don't pay a certain amount by march 26th. It's not a settlement, but to keep me from being sued. Should I pay them the amount?

I posted a message regarding USFC and 500 Fast Cash. Basically, I took out a pdl from them and did not pay them back after they charged me for a "nsf fee," even though I had more than enough money in my account to cover it. I closed my bank account and told them I wasn't paying them anymore because they charged a bogus fee to me. Now, I received this email below. How can I get them off my back for good? I live in MA, where this company is illegal. I borrowed 300, paid back 180 and now I owe 555???? Here is the email: Your account with US Fast Cash is in a final collection status.

I posted this on another thread but hope you don't mind that I opened up a new topic. I just finished filing a complaint with the BBB against United Cash Loans. After closing my account, reopening another, sending cease and desist and revocation of wage assignment letters, they are still threatening further collection for $570 on a $300 loan on which I have paid a grand total of $765. The resolution I requested with the BBB was a refund of $465 in illegal interest collected (I live in KY).

Hi, Is it legal in the state of Georgia to charge $300 interest a month on a $3,000 unsecured personal loan, or is this usuary?

I received a settlement offer from Merrick Bank saying they will slash my current balance in 1/2 if I can pay that full amount within 30 days or they will set up payment arrangements over a 36 months. I am unable to pay the $578.29 all at once and can pay the $22.48 for 36 months, however I can not pay them anything until April 3rd and the 3rd of each month after that. What should I do? Also am I safe to give them my new checking account info or not? ladybug

I broke my wrist in early January and had to have surgery. I don't have insurance. I received a bill for anesthesia for $450 in February. They wanted payment in full in 20 days. I called to make payment arrangements as I have not worked in almost 3 months. They told me they will only accept $50 a month payments. I can only afford $25. This bill is not even 30 days past due and they are already threatening me with turning it over to a collection agency! :roll: My question is should I just send the $25 I can afford? It would be a hardship to send $50.

I am slowly trying to get out of payday hell. I live in MD were pd's are illegal. CashNetUSA took three amounts out at ONCE! How do I handle this?

or responding to the BBB, or allowing me access to my account (maybe that means I don't have one any longer. . .wouldn't that be nice!) I have just filed a complaint against them, again, with the BBB in Tennessee. The first one went to the Canandian address with no avail. Perhaps I will have better luck with this address. I still question whether they are individual PDL's or just one big happy group.
