I heard that people can get a free credit report once a year. Does anyone know the phone number to call for that? I was wanting to do that so I can see exactly what is out there that I owe, and what company I need to contact to set up payment. Thanks for any info you may have.

I am hoping to get a good tax refund coming up and with it want to pay off some debt. I had someone very rude call me and it scared the heck out of me. But I am not sure what the laws are. What happens if you live in NH, but the law office trying to collect the money is in MA, and the credit card company is from yet another state? Which state laws apply in this case? Can you be sent to jail for not paying a debt? Or can they just have a judge insist you pay by a certain date? With the money I get I was wanting to start paying things off, but I am sure it will only cover a little bit.

i need to know if this company is real,, casue i tried to call today to get info on a debt that went to u guys for collections,, i try to call and number isn't a valid number to call, tried about 4 other numbers and nolonger in service, so hmmm how do i get ahold of your company to find out about this debt.. please contact me,,

Took out a cashnet loan and couldnt pay them back, now they are using a collection attorney Patrick Corbett whom I spoke w/ today. they want 900 plus fees from me. This is already on my credit report..but can they sue if I'm in another state? any chance of cashnet working w/ me, and not through those guys? I did some internet research and Patrick Corbett of Southern Tier agency has alot of complaints filed against them... any help would be great. thanks!

Hi my dear DebtCC friends. I am here to say something that's personal but I thought I have to bring this out because I am not too much on the board and also not in the office these days. My dad is fighting against lung cancer and he is going through a lot of complications these days. Doctors said that he is in stage 4 and it's tough to come back from there. They have been giving him Chemo and radio therapy but now, it seems like that also isn't going to work for too long. His health is not in a condition to take too much medication and is showing complications.

Took out a loan on Cashnet Had an emergency, never had enough funds or means to payback It's on my credit report, which I'm fine with, but now after over a year, they have an attorny who is with Southern Tier Agency in NY, and they have a bad rep, I did a search on them, and they claim to be filing a suit on me for 900 plus all their fees wich is another 900. what can I do?

We have been getting calls from Palisades for several weeks now. All time sof day/night. When the machine answers, the message is cut off, but they leave a number to call back between 9am and 6pm EST (of course we are on the West Coast). When we do answer the phone, even in the middle of the day on a weekday, it is just the same message, to call their number. So when we call back, we go through the options till it wants our SS#! Right, like I'm going to punch that in on the phone when I don't know these people from Adam!
