Hi all! I'm sort of nervous - my court date is on Thursday for a Breach of Contract suit. The suit isn't valid, though, since they're saying I made a payment in 2/03...and I didn't. I have faxed records from my bank for 1/03, 2/03, and 3/03 that show that no payments were made. So hopefully the judge will see that and tell them to leave me alone. The SOL here in Missouri is 5 years. I guess this isn't directly about dealing with a collection agency (though that's who sent the lawyers after me) but I'm scared and I can't talk to most people in my life about this.

If I produced products and delivered them to someone in Canada what recourse do I have to collect and unpaid bill for those products.

I have sent my letters via email, with the hard copies going out within the next couple of days. I have one that is $30 short of being paid in full (according to my accounting, not theirs). My question is this. . if they don't supply me with a mailing address within the 10 day window I gave them, should I consider paying the $30 on the lst of the month using a mailing address that can be located on this board? Or should I just hang in there and wait for them to supply me with a mailing address?

I have asked 3 times for DV from a collections attorney who represents a junk debt buyer, this junk debt buyer give his law firm his debts to collect, and three times all I got were final statements and nothing else. The statements that the attorney sent are not correct. In the last letter I asked for proper validation and told him the statements alone were not proper validation and again listed what I needed proof he own debt, etc. I am not sure what to do at t his point. I afraid because he is a lawyer he could sue or take me to court, etc. How do I handle this now?

This place left a message for me to call them; someone with a thick accent (Indian?). I called 4 times and stayed waiting for someone to pick up 15 minutes each time. I have no clue who or what they are. I Googled and saw something like "Tac Car" or "Tacar" group??? All of the information from people stating they are receiving calls is from within the last week. Could it be some new agency dredged up?? Any clues?

I reported ssm ....to my Ohio Attorney General...just went on their site and logged a complaint...they send a letter to "mediate". When I was told that, I moaned, but guess what? I got letter from the Attny Gen 02/14 stating their intent to send a letter..I got this email today 02/19..Dont give up you guys!!! I am trying very hard to pay off all my credit card debts. I - being a total idiot went to a debt settlement company. They "suggested" that I not pay my bills, and that they had great relationship with creditors.... What a lie. Anyway, I am now in a dmp. I'm trying to pay off all my loans 100%. However, Mann Bracken Llc. wants a lump sum payment. I do not have the funds to give them the payment. I offered to pay it off through the DMP program. No deal.

I received a bill from the Merchant's Credit Guide on 2008, 3rd of Jan stating they were attempting to collect a debt. I sent out a validation letter on the 16th of the same month. Today I received a letter in the same format as the first one, with no validation enclosed, just a bill. What is my next move, as it is obvious they are not going to send me any validation documentation for this bill. The only thing different about this letter was it mentioned when they sent me my first notice it included my rights under the FDCP Act and I still have time to exercise my rights.

If yo have a debt and you know its yours and you want to do the right thing and pay it off and the CA is offering you a settlement what is the best way to go about doing it. I imagine I should get it in writing, but how do you know if it will stand up in court if they try to sue later? I am assuming pay by money order. Also what should they send me to prove they are the legal holders of the debt. Ive seen the validation letter you have but it seems a bit heavy handed. The lady who called me was nice and said I could drop it from $1900 to $450 so I dont want to make her mad.
