What a company that has no class. Got two nasty messsages from them and they called my parents telephone number. I called them back and turns out it is a company that is trying to collect on an old debt from three years ago that I have paid to another collection company. They insisted that it was a different account and that I owed the bill. That I need to "pay my bills" and I told them I did and we tryed to call the other company on conference call however they were closed. I told them I was going to report them to the FCC and they said they would get their legal people involved.

So we all know Capital One doesn't report credit limits when reporting, but can they report and not indicate an account number?

I had done a payday loan at ace cash express in california. the account i wrote it on got closed and now i am being threatened that i will be put in jail for fraud. can they do this????????

I just got a call from these people earlier today saying that they are a law office representing Capital One and that they are looking for $1,200.00. I told them I intend to pay the bill in full sometime in the future, but at this time was paying other debt and didn't have the money. The person on the other end of the phone said that if I couldn't commit to a a payment plan today, that they would garnish my wages to a tune of 25% of my net pay until the debt is paid. I got back to work form lunch and my HR guy tells me someone had called to verify my employment.

I have visited this site over the last few weeks and others trying to find a way out of the hole I am in. I have both storefronts and Internet loan companies...many you have all had a problem with. I just want to know the steps to go through to get them all off my back and paid. I deal with Fifth Third Bank and have read on here that they will open back up your account if you close it. I have heard that some of these companies won't take minimum payments.

Hello everybody, I am trying to obtain a loan with bad credit. Are there any lenders out there to help in this situation

I disputed an item on my credit report in mid December directly through Experian. About two weeks later I received notice that it was removed and a new copy of my report that didn't include the account. About a month later I received a summons from an attorney and the creditor for the amount shown on the credit bureau. Is their removal of the item proof that they can't verify that I owe them anything? Can this be used in court as proof I don't owe anything?

OK… I know you are probably tired of hearing about Rio Resources… but here is one more. I received a call today from and “attorney” named Christopher Ranieri… well someone in his office who accused me of being rude and eventually hung up on me when I asked her for the original debtor information. She was trying to collect a 95.00 alleged debt from Ten Dollar Pay Day loan. She apparently did not know of Rio resources, or MTE (the actual original loan originator).

I am not in trouble, yet, but I can see the writing on the wall. I am not behind on anything, but I am *just* paying my bills every month. I make pretty good money, I have just assumed so much unsecured debt that there is nothing left over. What is the best thing to do to prevent a financial crash and burn? I have about $40k in unsecured debt. Thanks - Shawn
