i am behind in my credit payments and i am taking responsibility to pay them off now (trying). i am currently 5 months behind. are there certain creditors that are known to take you to court and sue? i would try to concentrate on paying those creditors first.

Could someone pm me who has had experience dealing with a "lawyer" in Texas by the name of Frederick D. Kelly. I have seen some information on this site on him and I know he has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB (I can understand that one!!) but I need to have contact with someone who has had dealings with him and what the outcome has been. By the way, this site is GREAT!!

I live in Maryland; however, as someone who's had the sad experience of dealing with PDL's, I've been following the efforts in Virginia to control the PDL's there. As I'm understanding it, they want to make the law where a person can only have 1 PDL at a time and supposedly will have a database to keep track of that. How would they enforce that if people apply for the internet loans? I'm sure that the PDL places which are located in India, the Caribbean, etc., don't really care HOW many PDL's a person has as long as they can get money from them!

well, i am asking this question because my creditors have given the responsibility of collecting the dues from me to a collection agency and i got a call from them today. i am late on some of my payments and i was wondering that to what lengths can they go to extract money? can they send me to jail?

i stayed at California but recently shifted to Georgia on account of my husband's business. i had taken a few loans in California but closed my account there without repaying them. am i going to face any problem in Georgia if i want to open a bank account here?

i saw so many people discussing their problems with payday loans that i thought that you people must be knowing the answers to my question. i am hard pressed for money. i am unemployed and do not know the state of my credit report as i have taken quite a few loans earlier and not repaid them and luckily managed to evade the creditors. :evil: but i find myself in the same situation as before but i have made up my mind that this time i will repay. my question is: which is the safer one? the storefront or the internet payday loans?

recently my dad brought a car after taking a loan of 10k. the repayment plan was worked out in the beginning, and we never thought there would be any problem while repaying. but as destiny had it in store for us, my brother had a serious accident in school and dad took a couple of payday loans to cope up with the extra expenses. now all the payments are in due, and me, mom and dad are trying to make ends meet. we have already started getting the reminder phone calls and don't have any idea which way to look. i feel like running away. can anyone please help us get out of this mess?

I got a payday loan from PLS (payday loan store) in waukegan on grand ave for 800. Well they made it into 2 loans which made it impossible to pay because it was like I was getting charged way more... I sent them a letter t to tell them a bad situation got worse and I couldn't pay them the full amt and could we come up with a payment plan.. They never got back to me.. Just last week they sent in my checks and needless to say they bounced.. Now they have sent a wage assignment to my employer who said I had to take care of it within 2 weeks or by law they have to garnish me....

I have been reading about several collection agency's on this site, but am wondering, is there a search option there? I've tried to find one, but haven't found one as of yet. I would like to search for specific CA's, does anyone know if there is or isn't a search option available, if so, where is it located?
