Well when i was in high scool and all through it I was very good with my money and my credit. Paying off debt and saving money. I was ok when I went for my first year of college and still payed my bills and had money. My second year of college started out ok but got bad. I got sick and with my sickness I didnt make it to all my classes and making that I did not pass most of my classes. My parents thought it would be best for me to move back home since I was sick. Deep down I knew that was the best thing but I was not happy with it.

I got home today and there was a message on my machine from "something-something" Investigations. I could hardly understand it, she "read" so fast. She was calling for my husband and stated that a civil suit was being filed against him in our state and gave an unintelligible case number. She then said that he needed to call Mr. Harris at 410-878-7057. And I quote: "If you don't get in touch with us in 48 hours, then we KNOW IT'S YOU!!!" :evil: Well, other than some medical bills, my husband doesn't have any big debts. All his old credit cards are waaaaay past the SOL.

For the life of me I can't remember what case law to cite that supports reporting/verifying accounts to CRAs as continued collection activity. I will likely need this when I go to court. I have contacted the lawyer of the bank that is suing me, as I am unable to get hold of anyone at the bank in England. I have made them an offer of lower monthly payments. If we can settle out of court will they drop the suit?

I need to answer my summons. Attached to the summons is a bunch of questions, called the Plaintiffs Account Interrogatories. How do I answer this? I admit I owe them money but I do not know how they have arrived at the amount they have. The original creditor is a British bank. I used to live there and the original loan was in British pounds. It has now been converted to a US dollar amount. I have no clue how they have figured it out. I live in Texas and have been sued in a county I do not live in. Also, this contract is subject to British law, specifically the "Consumer Credit Act".
