I just spoke with 3 different people with this company and what a joke! I use to handle legal garnishments for a collection agency and now understand why so many people liked my former employer. I received a sif letter that expires today and advised each person I get paid friday and would do a post dated check. the "settlement manager" was more concerned with meeting her month end that actually closing the account or forbid try any other way to get some amount of payment for this month.

What does GDYR/CBSD mean. I found them on my credit report.

I have not read about this topic. I do owe this bill and do not mind working to pay it off, but Palisades is asking for my Bank account rounting number and account number and say they want it over the telephone. It is the only way they accept payment. I am not comfortable giving out this information. I would rather mail my payment in. Am I locked in to doing business their way?

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you!! After finding this site I mailed out a bunch of debt validation letters to collection agencies. I keep getting letters back in the mail just simply saying thank you for your correspondence, we will be deleting this account, please allow so many days for the credit bureaus to update on their end. I'm amazed! The main thing I wanted was to see who was actually in control of the account and what the actual balance was to offer settlements. There are of course still a few being stinkers. NCO go figure lol.

Thinking of defaulting on your pay day loan? I suggest you don't do it, because you will be guilty of passing a worthless check. Unless you are looking forward to being arrested at work and doing the perp walk, you best send that money you owe in right away. My company will prosecute you and send you to jail. You signed a contract. Meet your obligations. Jail isn't fun.

Happened to see a commercial this weekend on behalf of our "friendly payday lenders," all about how they help people to get money when they need it, encourage responsible finances, etc., etc. PDLs' are prohibited here in Maryland, but our TV stations also serve DC and Virginia where PDls' are legal. After what I've been thru with PDL's, seeing this commercial made me want to "do an Elvis," and destroy my TV set!
