I am a twenty year old student and am employed as a part timer. Recently i took a credit card. However i got a call from a collection agency stating that i have loans of about 2k and if i do not pay up in the stipulated time period they will send me to jail. Now that's absurd! I am sure there must have been a mistake somewhere, but i am a complete newbie regarding loans and debts and have no idea whatsoever to whom to turn to. Any advice would be of immense help. thank you!

We had a good amount of snow that fell today. So the wonderful road crews used a ton of salt to melt the snow on the roads. Well as night fell and the winds picked up those nice wet roads turned to glare ice :x The best part was that I had to take my son to a school fundraiser. His school is about 20 miles away. The roads were not much of a problem going there. But on the way home after they turned to ice sucked big time. So here I am driving home on the highway doing 25 :x The wind starts to gust up like 40 mph.

what do line of credit and "super-check" fall under. are they unsecured debt? if so counting those two accounts and all of our credits cards we have about 77k worth of unsecured debt w/about 2300 per month minimum payments. our total monthy payouts are 7400 which includes the 2300. this includes insurance groceries utilities, vehicle payments of 1200 mortgage 900, etc. our current monthly income is about 6600 monthly. needless to say we have been robbing peter to pay paul and are now maxed out and starting to fall behind on payments. plus we are going to owe the irs.

Here is my story (some of which I have posted before so sorry for repeating) I signed up for Credit Solutions. They were not able to settle 3 out of my 4 debts. When I asked for a refund, they sent me a new fee that is completley unacceptable to me. They want to charge me over $1,000 more than what I should. When I called I just got the runaround. So, I filed a complaint with the BBB. Here is my question: Should I also file a complaint with the Attorney General? Should I wait and see what happens with the BBB?

Hello all: I have a few questions. The story behind this is that I have a close family member that was recently separated due to secret financial problems. Long story short she found that they had a huge amount of debt not none to her after 30+ years of marriage. The divorce decree (they are in NY so all assets were divided 50/50) gave her a few credit card debts and the rest to her ex husband, who had much more in assets so he got most of the credit card debt.

I'm wanting to get a small loan that will put my car as collateral. Mainly I want to pay off credit card debt the loan is around 5,ooo my debt isn't that much but the interest is killing it. I want to settle it my visa credit card (aspire visa) it was recently turned over to Gamache and Meyers law office. I am scared because I don't know what my rights are and want my credit back again. I've only received one letter from them letting me know that my debt is with them now, that's it don't want monthly payments just want to do one lump sum any advice?
