I am cleaning up my credit so that I will be able to buy a home this summer. The market is extremely ripe for it and so is my credit! My credit is ripe with a bad smell though! I spoke to my realtor and said that at least some of the repair I have done is working my score up it's the inquries that need to be worked on as well. He told me I should dispute all of them and see if I can get them removed. So my question is.. How do you dispute inquries?

Is it better to set up a payment plan if you don't have the funds available for a settlement or take the chance of having your wages garnished. Also, the bank (In-house lawyers) told me that if I am able to settle at a later date, we could discuss settling at 50%. Do you think they were giving me a load of bologna or will they let me settle later if I am making payments. I am asking because I was being sued for a debt, this was causing me a lot of distress and I made arrangements to pay the amount of the debt in monthly installments.

Once you decide to do this, how long does it take to get the debt consolidation plan going?

Thanks so much for all the help! After learning that MRC Receivables is a junk debt buyer, and after learning what "junk debt buyer" means I was very irriated. If not for this site I might well have wound up having a judgement against me. I was so nervous in court - I spent hours preparing my defense - I thought they were going to show up with documents to proove I owed on the debt....but at court it was MRC's lawyer who told the judge to dismiss the case with prejudice. WHEH! Just wanted to share.

how i repair my very poor credit

I received a phone call from Bronson & Migliaccio on Friday demanding a payment by today Monday for $3000 for a CC from Bank of America. I have been sending min. payments to BOA every month but now they have turned my account over to Bronson & Migliaccio for collection. I tried to ask them if I could make monthly payments and was told no because they are not a collection agency. I don't know what to do I'm a older person who cannot work do to heath reasons and the only income I have is my deceased husbands pension and my Social Security.

Being sued by a collection agency and am going to try and get things worked out with them. Got a court date of 01/22/2008. What happens if I don't show up for this date? I know its probably in my best interest to show up, but what if I don't.
