Just a question about my credit report. I checked it last night and it stated I had a negative report from a collection agency. I noticed the report was from 2004 which I paid off through them. It stated it was paid and nothing owed. Does action by a collection agency stay on your report in a category by itself? Is it ever put in a more positive light? Just wondering...thanks.

Okay so I had my problems with IPDL last year and cleared those up thanks to this site. Anyhow I decided to take a second job this year and was hired by a company called Instatax, they do RAL's (financed loans based upon anticipated tax refunds). I have been trying to decide if I really want to take the tax preparer job, my bank book says I should but my gut says I shouldn’t. It is not in the greatest part of town and the owners have never been really clear about their security plans.

Hi, i have Cr cards debt $22,000 (6 cards), have hard time paying minimum and considering debt settlement. Does anyone have been in the Debt settlement program?? is it really works? I have found many of them online but not sure, afraid that they are scam companies. I have heard abt Debtxpert.com from the forum but not sure too since I checked in BBB.org and the rate is F. Does anyone has any suggestions/info what company that is reputable?? will the cr cards co. / collectors will harrast me while i enroll in the program?? how abt the interest and late fee?

I know this is kinda off-topic. But I figured since payday loans is the reason I no longer have a bank account to cash my checks, i would go ahead and ask. Anyways, i'm waiting on a HUGE paycheck (60 hours of OT)and i'm worried I will have trouble cashing it. Our home office is located in NJ and i'm in Ohio, so it's an out of state check. I've been using Walmart to cash my checks but not this time. Walmart only allows you to cash $1,500.00 worth of checks in a 14 day period. This check will be for more then that alone. Meijers wont cash out of state checks.

To start, I owe about $7500 from a Citibank card that was charged off about a year ago. In July, WW&R sent me the usual collection letter. So a couple weeks later I send them a DV letter CMRRR and don't hear anything back, big shock. Well, now it's December and I hear from my mom that they are calling her and sent me a letter to my old address in Wisconsin (Havent lived there since 2000). THEY ALREADY know my current address since they got the DV letter from me. Not only that, but I was looking at my local court website because I wanted to verify a summons.

Hello everyone, I recently signed up for my first credit report, and I discovered a debt from August 2005. The balance the credit report lists is around $200. They list a collection agency. What should I do? I THINK this may be related to a medical problem I had in '05 (since I can't think of anything else it'd be), but I'm not sure what my course of action should be. I was approved for a car lease in 2007 and an apartment, so I was not aware of any problem. My questions are: since the credit report shows a balance of $200, is that all I'll have to pay?

my daughter has an enormous amount of debt and is looking for my help but I am in no position to help her. Her and her husband earn together about 80,000 a yr and have about 70,000 in debt does she qualify for bankruptcy.

Hi, I owe money to different credit cards. Today I received a court summon but I wasn't at home and the cop told my wife that it is a court summon. Is this summon for all the credit cards or will I recieved 1 for each credit cards. Thank you

Strange situation...A company called (has been callign for about a week now) I spoke to one person saying they were pinnacle financial and said that I had Tru Green Chem lawn to take care of my yard and that I need to pay them. Have no yard live in condo.... However the number that can up on the caller id is 1877-200-9000. When you call that number it says it is the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Referral Line. I have checked the 7 times they called and my caller id recorded the number. Is this typical of this company or is there a issue with their number? Just curious?
