I just received a voicemail at work from a gentleman saying that he is calling from Legal Mediation Practice and that he has made up his decision this morning and he needs a statement from me to call 800-201-0565. I am shaking right now I am paranoid!!! It's just that I don't want this call to go to my HR Dept because it might be a big problem since they have received wage assingments from PDL Co. I really don't need this problem now! PLEASE HELP !

What is considered "validation"???

Has anyone heard of Valentine and Kabatas? They called me yesterday on behalf of Chase Bank about a credit card that was charged off as of Nov. 30. I have not been able to find anything online about this company and am wondering if anyone might have informatin about them. Any help is appreciated.

I just wanted to know if small loan companies that are not payday loans are subject to cease and desist letters or are they exempt also. We sent 3 cease and desist letters by certified mail to 3 of our small loan companies, and 2 of the 3 keep calling anyway. One of them is getting very hateful and harassing and we have been with them for right around 5 yrs now. We have paid previous loans with them off, and have just got in a bind this time with my son having to go to Childrens hospital for surgery on his bladder.

Greetings all, i have a question about the SOL. When i signed my credit card agreements anywhere between 5-7 years ago, it was in the state of IL. Now for the past 4 years I have lived in Florida. I am currently looking at getting all my collections in order and trying to find the best action for each one. My question is, is the Statute of Limitations in effect for the state i live in or the state i signed the agreement in? If it is the state i live in, all these collections on me are out of the SOL.

I had a chase acct that I settled through a collection agency. The collection agency lists the acct. on my credit report and so does Chase. Chase lists it as "Charged off as bad debt Purchased by another lender" The collection agency lists it as "Payment after charge off/collection Settled - less than full balance." It seems like my 1 acct. is causing 2 negatives. Is this what happens in this situation and I live with it, or is this against the "rules" Also, Unifund, the collection agency is listed in the installment acct. section of my credit report, not collections.

Hi everyone. I have been lurking here for a while now, educating myself on pdl's. My situation is this. I have an installment loan with First Bank of Delaware. The original loan was for $1300. I have $274 debited every 2 weeks. I have 4 weeks left & the loan is paid in full. Unfortnately, I am unable to make these payments for another 4 weeks.

Can anyone help? I can't find one that specializes in fdcpa in the county I live in. Thanks.
